Best of luck to the 3 senior Sales professionals starting their new roles in Dubai this week via myself. Interestingly, all 3 candidates were immediately available due to a variety of factors such as company restructuring, redundancy etc. Often, there is debate on LinkedIn about usage of the 'Green Banner' and whether there is a stigma attached. Which is rather unfortunate. Hopefully this goes to show that each candidate/ interview should be taken on face value. Life happens and circumstances outside of our control can dictate our career paths. Interviewing someone out of work doesn't have any bearing on their skill set and conversely as this week has shown to me, some of the best talent in the market may be currently out of work. If you've been following my updates lately you'll have seen in just the past four weeks, MNA Properties recruitment team has gone from just me to a powerhouse of four: two Recruiters, a Senior Recruiter, and a Recruitment Director. First things first, get to know your agents Understanding their needs and lifestyles is key to matching them with the right business model. It's like finding the perfect puzzle piece—when it fits, everything just clicks. Next, keep it real with your candidates. Give them a true picture of the job, challenges included. When expectations are set correctly from the start, you'll see fewer people leaving early on because they know what they're signing up for. Onboarding is another biggie. Make new hires feel welcome and prepared with a solid onboarding process. Training, mentorship, and clear communication can make all the difference in setting them up for success.  And don’t forget about ongoing learning. Offering continuous training and development shows your agents that you’re invested in their growth. It's a win-win—they improve, and your team gets stronger.  Creating a great work culture is also crucial. Foster a supportive and positive environment where achievements are recognized and rewarded. A strong support system can really boost job satisfaction and loyalty.  Make sure to listen to your agents. Set up regular feedback channels to understand their concerns and act on them. Keeping your team happy and motivated should be a top priority.  Lastly, show your agents a clear path forward. When they can see opportunities for growth within your company, they're more likely to stick around and invest in their roles. And to all the agents out there, be prepared to be as persistent and resilient as possible to achieve what you’ve set for yourself. How to attract the best Sales talent for your company in UAE & KSA Had an in-depth discussion with a Chief People Officer last week, who works for a large regional business. We spoke about how to attract the best Sales talent for their company in the competitive recruitment marketplaces in UAE and KSA. Here's some ideas we discussed: - Invest in your employer brand and then use marketing to showcase this widely. LinkedIn being a useful tool to do just this. - Understand what your Sales team want and need in terms of financial and non financial rewards and incentives and then try and offer just that. (This could be better pay/bonuses, more flexible annual leave such as Summer Vacations, WFH policies, more flexibility to sell in wider areas etc) - Train management to sell the company during the interview process (Might seem counterintuitive, but the best candidates can sometimes hold multiple offers and selling your business to them is pivotal in getting their acceptance. - Use a specialist recruiter to identify and engage passive talent that can not be found via Job Boards or direct applications. - Use a specialist recruiter to be your mouthpiece in the marketplace. Tell them about reasons why it's a fantastic time to join, they then share this with candidates and news quickly spreads. - Showcase examples of your current employees success. If you have had someone join at entry level, who has had multiple promotions, this is one of the most powerful hiring tools you have. Use it.
