We are one week away from celebrating the July 4th holiday and we want to remind all pet owners that the time to start preparing is now! ❤️ If you plan to include your pets in outdoor activities, ensure they are always supervised and on a leash. Avoid feeding them human food that can be toxic, and make sure they have access to fresh water and shade to prevent heatstroke. Additionally, be mindful of the heat and limit outdoor time during peak sun hours to avoid overheating. To help your pets stay calm during the evening's noisy festivities, we highly recommend giving them plenty of exercise earlier in the day. A tired pet is more likely to stay relaxed and rest during the fireworks. Long walks, play sessions, and mental stimulation can significantly reduce their anxiety levels. Furthermore, create a safe, quiet space inside your home where your pets can retreat during the celebrations. Equip it with their favorite toys, a comfortable bed, and some calming music to help drown out the noise. Ensure their ID tags are up-to-date and consider microchipping for added security. By taking these steps, you can help ensure a more peaceful and stress-free holiday for your furry friends. Let's work together to make this 4th of July enjoyable and safe for everyone, including our beloved pets! 🎆🐾 #NexusPets #July4th #fireworks #pets #petsafety #microchips #dogs #cats #animals #fireworks #summertime #summer #july4 #safetytips #celebrate #summerfun #education

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸 Today is such a fun day with cookouts and pool parties, but it's also the worst day of the year when it comes to dogs running off and going missing. The fireworks many of us enjoy can cause an extreme spike of anxiety and fear in our pups. Share this post with tips from the American Kennel Club to help us spread the word about keeping dogs safe at home during this evening's festivities. 🎇 TIP 1: Make sure your pup has access to a comfortable space that is as quiet as possible. Either a closet, spare room, or in their kennel. 🎇 TIP 2: Keep toys and long-lasting treats with them to help distract from the loud noises and flashes. 🎇 TIP 3: Make time to exercise your pup during the day so you can keep them safely indoors before fireworks start. Many dogs run away on this day every year and we want to see that number as low as possible this year! 🎇 TIP 4: As the sun starts to set, close your windows and curtains, and turn on music or TV to help muffle the loud noises from the fireworks. 🎇 TIP 5: Standing over your anxious and fearful dog may just make them more anxious. It's usually best to leave them alone, unless their likely to get hurt. But we all know our dogs best! 🎇 TIP 6: Make sure your pup's microchip enrollment information is up to date in case your dog manages to escape. Though, we hope your pups will all stay safe indoors! 🎇 TIP 7: If you already have some, give your dog WINPRO Calming! Ideally, our soft chews work best when they've been in your pup's system for a week or two, but giving them Calming today can only help: https://lnkd.in/etyraFMP

Keep Your Pets Safe During New Year's Celebrations. As we prepare to ring in the New Year, it's important to remember that our furry friends might not enjoy the festivities as much as we do. Fireworks and loud noises can be stressful and frightening for dogs. Here are some tips to keep them safe and comfortable: 1. **Create a Safe Space:** Make a cozy, quiet area in your home where your dog can retreat if they feel scared. Fill it with their favorite toys, blankets, and maybe some calming music. 2. **Stay Indoors:** Keep your dog indoors during fireworks. Close windows, curtains, and doors to help muffle the sounds and reduce the chance of your dog bolting in fear. 3. **Keep Them Occupied:** Provide treats, puzzle toys, or chew items to distract and entertain them. 4. **Stay Calm:** Dogs pick up on our emotions. Stay calm and act normally to help reassure them that there's nothing to worry about. 5. **Use Calming Aids:** Consider using calming products like anxiety wraps, pheromone diffusers, or natural remedies, after consulting with your vet. 6. **Exercise Early:** Take your dog for a walk earlier in the day to burn off some energy and make them more likely to rest during the evening. 7. **Identification:** Ensure your dog is wearing a collar with an ID tag and that their microchip information is up to date, just in case they do manage to escape. Let's all take a moment to make sure our pets feel safe and secure tonight. Happy New Year from all of us at Drone To Home! 🐾✨

🎇The old year will soon fold, and the New Year will bloom in all its glory with fireworks. The permitted time for explosions in Finland is today at 6:00 PM to January 1 at 2:00 AM. But unofficial launches have already begun…🎆 🐾How can you organize the last day of the year to minimize your dog’s anxiety? Take your pet for a good walk during daylight hours 🐕🦺 Allow your dog to burn off some energy so she can relax in the evening. However, avoid excessive exercise, especially if your dog isn’t used to it. 💊Calming medications should be given to animals in advance. As for ThunderShirt, you can put it on after the walk if you’re sure it helps. Make sure this accessory doesn’t become an unexpected stress factor for your dog. Try to minimize all new experiences on this day. 🏡Spend New Year’s Eve at home, in an environment familiar to your dog. Alternatively, heading to a quiet countryside location, can also be a great option. 🍴In the morning, feed your dog a smaller portion to reduce the need for an evening walk. The next day, of course, return to the standard portion. Check your dog’s hideaway spot: is it comfortable and convenient to hide there? Is there a bowl of water nearby?💧 🪟From the morning, close the windows with thick curtains or blinds to ensure bright flashes of light don’t disturb your dog. This will also help you pay less attention to the beautiful but sudden and noisy lights. Use background noise like music, a heater or similar sounds 🎶 to hide the noise. Everyone can be scared, and how your dog copes with this new fear will depend on your behavior and her predisposition and. 🙏I’d like to thank those who follow the rules! This gives frightened animals at least some predictable framework for their distress. Though it would be even better if all possible “explosive” events were organized far away from the city. 🎆By preparing your dog in advance for the upcoming noisy fireworks, you can significantly reduce her stress and help endure this period more calmly. 🐶Be attentive and remember that every dog is unique, requiring an individual approach. Wishing you strength and patience as you care for your pet this New Year!🎇
