It is early in the morning. It is cold and foggy – and our service department is as always on the go and is assembling a brand new Kalmar Super Gloria reachstacker with 130 ton lifting capacity 🐘 This majestic Kalmar DRG1300-92ZX reachstacker is of such size and weight, that it is always delivered to customers in a partly dismantled state. This is done to not exceed physical on-road criteria such as width, height and weight and axle-loads. When it arrives at customer site, the dismantled parts need to be re-fitted. Dismantled parts – that sounds like minor parts that are easily re-fitted. However, just one of these parts – in this case the upper part of the counterweight – weighs in excess of 15 metric tons alone. The combined dead weight of this machine when fully assembled is 123.980 kilos.
