I have now finished my 2nd week at work ( it's a short week due to holydays) Here are some thoughts 1. I toke the long travel to my main site in Yoknem, picked up my Nvidia Tag, and met people in person. this allows me to continue building my network. While I'm not a "small talk" person, I do feel and know the importance of talking and listening to ppl, really learn what they do at work and in the personal life. this allows me to connect in a deeper level to my team and group. 2. I completed my first real task! it was assigned to me by my manager last week, and this week I reached out to two expert who set and guided me how to achieve it. it was it was great feeling to have a "win", I know I did not do it myself, but it was also my capabilities how made it work. (I'm not sure it was a big win, but a win all the same) 3. I had my first "Eureka" moment! it was that moment when I finally understood a basic concept that made many small details fall in to place! - it was so meaningful to me to know I can trust myself to have deep understanding of problems! 4. I keep on learning new tools and new flows, and kept hitting the "invisible walls". the walls I have in my head expecting a specific Mode of Work and realizing Nvidia is doing it differently. I still need time to remove them and learn again how to explore the new ways of doing things. Looking forward for the next week, stay tuned!

This past Friday, I spoke to an assembly of a little over 100 high school students about my STEM career, including my career detours (which highlight that you're never "stuck") and ongoing education ('cause education is a lifelong thing). While I love speaking to high school students, the best part is listening to and answering their questions. This time I got everything from "which of your books is your favorite?" to "does the aerospace industry have layoffs?" to "what was your favorite class in college?". These questions carried over past the actual talk and Q&A, when a few came up to me afterwards. In these 1-on-1s: One young man asked whether it was worth it to take physics in high school if he was going to be taking it all over again in college. My response: "Do you like physics?" Him: "Yes!!" (he said with great enthusiasm) Me: "Then do it! Absolutely worth it if you enjoy it." He walked away with a huge smile on his face. Another young woman asked if she should switch from the computer tech classes she was currently enrolled in to something more akin to computer engineering. Me: "Do it! They're related, and there is nothing wrong with trying out these different classes to see which is the better fit for you. No matter what, you'll pick up knowledge and skills along the way." She walked away looking like she'd just shed a whole bunch of anxiety and angst over her decisions. The overall theme with these kids turned out to be something along the lines of there not being a single path in life, and that all these different experiences are going to help shape who they are... without there being a single right or wrong answer.

🚀 Exciting News! 🚀 I'm thrilled to share that I participated in the Google Girl Hackathon 2024, Edition 3, organized by Google! 🌟 With over 30,000+ registrations from 3500+ colleges, it was an incredible experience that took us through several challenging stages: 1️⃣ Resume Shortlisting: We had to choose between Software Engineering and Silicon Engineering. I chose Silicon Engineering and successfully passed this initial screening. 2️⃣ Orientation Program: This stage introduced us to the structure of the hackathon, what to expect, and how to prepare ourselves for the upcoming challenges. 3️⃣ Learning Cohorts: During this phase, we gained invaluable insights into how Silicon Engineering is used at Google. We also received our problem statement, which was essential for the subsequent stages. 4️⃣ Online Test: This was a critical assessment to test our knowledge and skills. I'm happy to say I cleared this stage, which was a significant milestone. 5️⃣ Idea Presentation: After clearing the online test, we had the opportunity to present our ideas. My idea focused on a chip design for traffic management in System on Chip (SoC). 6️⃣ Finale Round: My chip design idea was selected for the final presentation! 🎉 Out of thousands of participants, only 45 were shortlisted for the finale across both the Software and Silicon Engineering tracks. I'm beyond thrilled to announce that I made it to the final stage! Becoming a finalist in the Google Girl Hackathon 2024 is an honor, and I'm grateful for the opportunity and the incredible learning experience. 🚀 Excited to share a milestone from my journey: I had the privilege of participating in Intel Unnati Grand Challenge in October 2023, immersing myself in an exhilarating hackathon experience. Reflecting on my second hackathon, I realized the importance of genuineness amidst the whirlwind of challenges. Yes, there was stress, but it was also accompanied by a abundance of new feelings and learnings. First round was a data analysis round on the accident-prone areas and situations on Indian roads which required us to classify the accident types and their frequency and based on our report, we emerged as one of the top 10 teams and got a chance to be at the finale held at IIIT Hyderabad. However, we could not grab any of the top three positions but in all it was a great learning experience and I look forward to more of such experiences and aim to learn from the past mistakes and improve. Hackathons aren't just about coding; they're also about pushing boundaries, embracing the unknown, and evolving personally and professionally. Through Intel Unnati Grand Challenge, I improved my skills, grew my network, and uncovered new aspects of myself. Kudos to my teammates Kumar Shivam and Shivam Kumar Thakur, who gave their best in our final project which aimed on providing a solution for road mobility issues. Though we couldn't excel in finals but clearing semi-finals helped us grab a cheque of 10K and boosted our motivation. 🚀 #HackathonJourney #Motivation
