Misconception...Monday?!?! Are you ready - Misconception: Black cats are associated with bad luck and are at increased risk during Halloween. Reality: The belief that black cats bring bad luck and are more likely to be harmed during Halloween is a common misconception with no factual basis. Although some shelters limit black cat adoptions in October as a precaution, there is no evidence to suggest they are more vulnerable during this time. This misconception persists due to historical superstitions and media portrayals, but in reality, black cats face no greater danger around Halloween than at any other time of year. #HalloweenMyth #HalloweenTruth #WaterDamageRestoration #FireDamageCleanup Jennifer Restrepo Alejandro Restrepo Alexi Giantomidis Draško Šamara PuroClean PuroClean of Greenwich | Stamford

Did you know that it is considered bad luck to give someone a knife as a housewarming gift? This is because knives have historically been seen as symbols of power. Therefore if you give someone a knife the gift giver is said to be giving their power to the new owner. In addition giving a knife to someone supposedly severs the ties between the recipient and the gift giver. This could be the bond of friendship, a romantic relationship or a family bond. To avoid the bad luck associated with giving knives, gift givers often tape a coin to the blade. The recipient will then remove the coin from the blade and hand it back to the gift giver. The purpose of this is because it allows them to ‘buy’ the knife with the coin which means that power isn’t given away without compensation and no ties/bonds are severed when a knife is bought. Do you know of any other superstitions about housewarming gifts? #lovelle #housewarminggift #celebrate #superstitions

This Halloween, make sure you follow your HOA's guidelines for trick-ortreaters in your neighborhood!! Some suburban neighborhoods will have lowered speed limits, rules about outdoor lights and decorations, and curfews, while more rural areas may have a gathering place for festivities, street-facing light rules, and restrictions to yard/ farm work as well. So it's important to check online or over the phone with a representative who can give you all the information you need! If you would like to be sent the Covenants and Restrictions for your neighborhood: email "C&R" and the name of your subdivision to office@indianahomeexperts.com!
