We would like to thank The Victory Advantage for kicking off our Nevins on the Go campaign with a generous grant! We rely on our vans to safely transport our staff and participants to the Nevins campus, our in the community, to their jobs with their job coaches, and to their jobs at Atrium Health. Our fleet has gotten older and costly to repair, so we're working on raising funds to buy a new van. Will you partner with us in this mission? A few dollars will go a long way to make sure that adults with disabilities will get to where they need to go to live their best life. We're on our way to create opportunities. What will YOU create today?

Donated a dining room table to a local elementary school today. Our family decided to give our gently used dining table to support the school's needs. Here are 5 lessons I learned in one day: 1. Small Actions, Big Impact: Even a single piece of furniture can significantly enhance a learning environment. 2. Community Engagement Matters: Contributing locally fosters a sense of connection and shared responsibility. 3. Sustainability Through Giving: Donating items extends their life and reduces waste, benefiting the environment. 4. Teaching Generosity: Acts of giving set a positive example for others, especially children, about the importance of helping those in need. 5. Personal Fulfillment: The joy derived from giving often surpasses that of receiving, enriching our own lives. I hope these insights inspire you to find ways to give back to your community!

This explains the new concrete pad!
The Village of Plain City recently began construction on the Heritage Trail Trailhead Project. Located on OH-161, just south of Darby Station, this project will include a parking area, hiking trail loop, and a shelter house. This amenity will allow residents and visitors to enjoy the Big Darby Creek through a 25-acre parcel donated to the Village by M/I Homes in 2023. Extending the Heritage Trail from its current terminus just east of Plain City remains a priority for our community, and we’re proud that this project will help further that mission.

Recently, I was asked about corporate social responsibility on a job application. In the event and experiential world, there is a substantial amount of waste, and whenever possible, I try to find ways to limit what goes to landfills, what can be given away to staff/labor/crew, and what can be donated. This photo is an example of an activation booth we built for a long-time client. It was used for one sponsorship season and then the event series (and the client) dissolved. Rather than throwing away this very sturdy booth, I was able to donate it to a local organization (through my local Buy Nothing Group). The Help Group is one of the nation's leading nonprofits dedicated to serving children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, developmental delays, abuse, and emotional challenges. The booth is used by the students to sell hot dogs and other food items as part of their vocational training and it has been a huge hit! I was so happy to receive this photo and know that this has been put to good use. What are some ways that you've been able to donate resources or activation materials post-event? #experiential #events #nonprofit #donation #activations #CSR #sustainability #specialevents #eventmarketing #dogood #marketing

💻 Do you have any preloved or unwanted laptops sitting around? 💻 Design shapes our world, yet our industry doesn’t reflect our society. Vital Hardware is a non-profit with a mission to empower talented young individuals from underprivileged backgrounds, by providing them with essential hardware and software tools. In the UK design workforce, 85.6% of management are white. Jobs for ethnic minority groups are just 13%, and senior positions are just 12%. Worse still, just 16% of creative industry employees come from working-class backgrounds. The creative sector struggles to find homegrown talent, particularly from working-class, ethnically diverse backgrounds and disadvantage communities. Pentawards is supporting this initiative through donation and by encouraging our network and community to get involved and help them reach even further in their efforts. How can you get involved? 🙏 ✅ Donating preloved or unused laptops ✅ Funding support to help continue their work If you have any laptops which you can donate, please drop me a message 🙌 #donation #vitalhardware

One of the main reasons I love charity is because we all commit to serve . There is no discrimination or any gender roles . As Givers Of Hope, we are a community committed to serve vulnerable populations and mostly street children .We plan atleast 4 activities annually and atleast two capacity building activities.Serving is not only fulfilling, it is also benefitial. Other benefits of charity that have impacted my life : 1. learning how to appreciate your privileges 2.Gaining and sharing knowledge with diverse people. 3. Building valuable connections. 4. Learning the art of giving. 5. Expanding your horizons through traveling to new places hence broadening your perspective .

There are persistent challenges faced by Indigenous communities, particularly in remote areas where infrastructure like libraries and bookstores is lacking. This limited access to reading materials hampers literacy development, which is foundational to further educational achievement. The gap in infrastructure and access to educational resources underscores the ongoing need for targeted investment in these communities. - Consider becoming a regular donor or a Literacy Champion -Organise a book drive to collect new, culturally appropriate books that can be donated to the ILF for distribution to remote Indigenous communities. - Participate in and promote Indigenous Literacy Day - Support Indigenous Authors and Storytellers - Encourage your company to partner with the ILF through sponsorships, corporate donations, or by providing in-kind support such as resources or expertise.

The Act of Giving The idea of giving is a fundamental aspect of human interaction that fosters connection, empathy, and community. Did you know that we lose a construction worker every second day to suicide? As an industry that focuses on improving worker safety, it's shocking to learn that construction workers are six times more likely to die from suicide than an accident at work. Unsurprisingly, most of these victims are also men. Throughout May, I'll be taking on the physical and fundraising challenge of the MATES Big Lap. MATES in Construction are a dedicated, integrated industry intervention program, committed to reducing the suicide rates within the construction industry. The work they do is powerful, direct and genuinely life SAVING. My goal is to track my activity kilometres in the month of May, while raising awareness and funds for MATES. If you could spare a dollar or two to help support MATES in Construction, and the incredible work they do, please do take a moment to donate on the link below OR get in touch with MIC to join the fight against suicide and mental health challenges in our industry. #construction #industrysupport #menshealth #mentalhealth #fundraising #awareness

A report from the American Immigration Council found that 74% of Americans reported nonbelonging in their local community Why? The report blames digital mediums for breaking down communities. As a result, people don't show up in person anymore. This hits non-profits hard because they rely on community feeling to be effective. As many non-profits try to rebuild that sense of community, the reality is that most of the available tools are digital. Philanthropy.com reminds us people find giving fulfilling . . . once they are activated. Getting them engaged is the challenge. You get them engaged by showing them how your institution aligns with their vision and values. Young donors don't want to be "patrons". They want to be partners. Almost 40% of Gen-Z view donating as a form of self-expression. Giving furthers a passion by being part of the change. How will your institution build communities to make change? https://lnkd.in/eTkPR26Q

To all my followers; all BTA followers; and generally everyone else out there who's been thinking about what else to do now that summer seems to have officially ended and the nights are drawing in: 💡 why don't you think about taking up a role as a charity trustee? 🔹 it's good for your personal, professional development; 🔹 it's a way to give back to society; 🔹 it's a way to help us get closer to finding a cure; opening up a new invaluable service; protecting the local natural environment or whatever the mission might be; 🔹 it's a great way to meet other likeminded folk who care as much about the cause as you do. 🌺 See below to see if trusteeship could be a next-best-step for you and help our sector look forward to a sunnier, happier Springtime and beyond! https://lnkd.in/edejDGZ2 https://bta.current.jobs/
