Today’s card from T. Harv Eker's Secrets of the Millionaire Mind is all about #BuyingAssets. This concept is extremely straightforward and incredibly powerful. On the road to building wealth, buying assets is critical. While money isn't everything, it certainly plays a significant role in our lives. To build wealth, I need to focus on acquiring assets—things that will go up in value over time. Assets are different from expenses, which typically lose value or provide temporary benefits.  One of the most important investments I can make is in myself. Since being laid off in October, I’ve been focusing heavily on self-investment. This means taking the time to learn new skills, gaining real-world experience, and preparing myself to add more value to the market. In life, there are only two things we can control. Our effort and our mindset Everything else is not entirely up to us. I had so much fun creating the slides for my presentation last week with PIAS’s biggest group - Apex Wealth. It was a truly humbling experience I must say. Why? Because the room was filled with many MDRTs, COTs, including a couple of TOTs. The crème de la crème of the industry. And the invitation was from my MENTOR. Wow. The gist of the sharing revolved around the [mindset] on dealing with different profiles of client types. Particularly those that have a need for jumbo sum assured and how to identify them. We also spoke about how to add indexed Universal Life into our solutions offering to this group of clients. Here are some useful extracts from the day: ✅ Pay attention to the little things because they will tell you a lot about the big things. ✅ Listen with the intent to understand and learn, not the intent to reply. ✅ The same boiling water that will make an egg turn hard, will make a potato turn soft. Dictate your environment. ✅ Repetition is the mother of all skills. Constant repetition carries conviction. ✅ Be interested > important than being interesting Hope they are as useful to you too! Over the last few weeks I have been giving some thought to how similar Capital Raising and Investor Targeting are. Three analogies have helped me raise capital & build relationships with investors - I hope they help you too. 3. Feast and Famine - a Raymond Morganism which still echoes in my head. N.B. This has to be my favourite AI generated image yet - Leonardo DaGPT 👨🎨 In any form of investor targeting, capital raising, even good ol' fashioned sales (😮) there will be periods where it seems like nothing is moving forward. Humans are emotionally motivated creatures. Hearing 'No' often enough can build self doubt and frustration that can impinge on future potential. It can be demoralising, and all hope can be lost. But the work you do in these periods are what set you up for the good times, when all you hear is 'Yes'. These are the Feasts. Enjoy them. BUT!!
