2024 has been a very busy year for the Neate & Pugh team and we’re super grateful for all the new opportunities and clients we’ve worked with this year. Here’s a whistle-stop tour of what we’ve been up to… ★ We started the year off with a bang moving into our lovely new office in the centre of Birmingham. ★ Every other month we’ve held our ladies networking lunch featuring some fabulous speakers (more of those to come in 2025) ★ In March we spoke at the annual Health & Wellbeing @ Work Show in Birmingham ★ In May we attended the Midlands Business Network Expo in Wolverhampton. ★ In September Beth learned she had passed stage 1 of Solicitors Qualifying Exams ★ In October we had a big party to celebrate 10 years in business. ★ In November we took the team on tour to exhibit at The Business Show in London. Across the year we’ve welcomed many new clients and supported our existing ones. We’ve also had a lot of laughs along the way and that’s down to our amazing team and all who support us. We’d like to thank them for all their hard work! Here’s to an even bigger and better 2025 🙌

Inspiring stories were shared at Rotherham football club today, as part of an event celebrating a milestone 2,000 people supported by the ‘Working Win’ programme. Working Win is a free service in South Yorkshire that aims to support you if you have a physical and/or mental health condition and want to find or retain work. It focusses on linking work and health making employment support available alongside healthcare services. The event was attended by senior leaders from South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, NHS, and Shaw Trust, as well as people being supported by the programme, four of whom bravely took to the stage to share their experiences. To find out how Working Win helped to improve their lives, read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/erSrfvRC BBC Radio Sheffield covered the event, speaking to Anthony Dandrea, Head of IPS and Integrated Services at Shaw Trust about the Working Win service and the celebration event itself. Listen to the clip below. With the government set to outline how to tackle the UK’s economic inactivity, programmes like Working Win are needed more than ever before. Video description: an orange background hosts text at the top that reads “Talking about Working Win live on BBC Breakfast!” Central to the image is a photo of Ellie, the radio host, who is a white woman with long blonde hair, wearing a red jumper and her arms folded. The subtitles appear below her.

Happy #InternationalCatDay! 🐱 Meet Sonja Farrell, founder of a luxury cat accessories brand Cheshire & Wain, and Percy and Penelope, her Cat Executive Officers and head product testers... "Cheshire & Wain has grown organically over the years, and I’ve had to constantly adapt to keep up with a changing economy. Dealing with big events such as Brexit and the pandemic was challenging, but I came out the other side with grand ambitions to scale the business. This is where the brilliant Get Ready for Business Growth course came in! Being a small business owner can be lonely and overwhelming at the best of times, and external help and support are difficult to come by, especially at a viable cost that makes sense. When I got a place in the GR4BG programme, I was overjoyed and couldn’t wait to start. The workshops and one-to-ones helped me build confidence in my business and find ambition and excitement for its future. From in-depth market research reports, financial advice, branding and marketing guidance, the course has given me a long to-do list. With other opportunities coming up for networking and learning through the BIPC, I feel like I am part of a very supportive business community. The best piece of business advice I've been given is to be original; copycats are always one step behind you. When I’m not working you’ll probably find me rummaging around in antique markets or foraging in the woods. I also love cooking and learning about food history and forgotten recipes. A book that has impacted me is 'If In Doubt, Wash Your Hair' by Anya Hindmarsh. I read it at a time when I was struggling with my workload and contemplating giving up. I urge anyone who is juggling life events while trying to keep a business afloat to read it. It was after closing this book with a new sense of empowerment and positivity that I applied for the BL course!" If you'd like to find out more about how we can help you, sign up for our free workshops and webinars or visit your local BIPC today! Homewatch CareGivers President Todd Houghton was honored to be part of this panel for Home Care 100: As part of the Intelligence Group's continual research on growth initiatives for home-based care providers, Managing Director Tim Bateman led a panel today highlighting one such emerging opportunity for the personal care sector: the middle market. With a heavy reliance on new technologies and a pioneering approach, Todd Houghton, President of Homewatch CareGivers, Peter Ross, CEO & Co-Founder of Senior Helpers, and Jeff Salter, Founder & CEO of Caring Senior Service, have been successfully growing into the large middle market and providing needed services to a cohort that will expand significantly in the coming decades. The success they’ve achieved in serving a population in great need of affordable personal care services is inspiring. And so are the business results: realizing efficiencies in workforce deployment and generating additional value for partners through the use of predictive tools. There’s no doubt that others in the Intelligence Group and the Home Care 100 leadership community will be using these organizations as exceptional examples of organic expansion into an adjacent market. hashtag #homecare100 #homecare #HomewatchCareGivers #HomewatchCareGiversTotalCareSolutions #Franchising

With everything happening around us, November serves as a reminder to give thanks and focus on the good in our lives. This year, I've had the pleasure of connecting with many wonderful individuals in the Charlotte community through various events, professional collaborations, and shared experiences. Each person is contributing to making Charlotte a vibrant place to live and work. Let's continue to support one another and celebrate our collective successes. Here are a few people you should get to know: 🏡 Carolina Gandrud - NC/SC Realtor: If you're looking for any type of real estate transaction, look no further than Carolina. I have personally worked with her, and she was incredibly responsive, friendly, patient, and supportive through various offers. Carolina made our transition from out of state as seamless as possible, ensuring every detail was taken care of. Her dedication to her clients and expertise in the real estate market are one of a kind. ☕ Jessica Helms - Co-Founder & CEO of Charlotte Area Chamber of Commerce: Have you been to a Chamber event? I have been to several this year and I have met so many great people with all types of roles and backgrounds. Highly recommend attending. Jessica's leadership have made these events invaluable for networking and community building. 🚗 Chris Morra - AAA Carolinas: I met Chris at a Charlotte Chamber event (see above) and he is a super networker. He's constantly making introductions and expanding my professional network. Chris's ability to connect others, his commitment to assisting others, and his knowledge in insurance make him a valuable resource and a trusted professional. 📋 Tom Owens, SHRM-CP - HR Freelancer: I met Tom through Chris (see above). Tom is focused on helping small business owners and the nonprofit community with HR strategy. His insights and expertise in HR help organizations ensure they have the right talent and strategies in place to succeed. If you're interested in connecting with any of these individuals, I'm happy to make an introduction! There are so many other amazing individuals I could mention, and I may have to do a separate post to highlight them all. Feel free to highlight any other individuals below! #Appreciation #Community #Charlotte #Networking

The hair might be questionable, but hopefully the message is a bit harder to argue with. 🙄 We believe that having the right people around you, to warmly support and respectfully challenge you, and to share, celebrate AND (hopefully not too often) commiserate with, is crucial to nurturing your business over time. Sure, the how is important, but it's the who and how their whys align with yours that start to make a professional community "sticky" in the best possible sense. 📌 You've got to want to be around these people, inspired by their energy, and open to their ideas (and vice versa), otherwise we might as well be in another conference room throwing business cards at each other with no buy-in but a whole lot of selling, right...? Convoy Collective is back in Brisbane this Wednesday evening and we're down to our last few guest tickets. So, if more stick, less sell is something you're seeking from new connections in and around your business, then you could do far worse than swinging by.
