As you know, I have been taking the time to highlight one of my favorite non-profit organizations, New-Story Homes. One of the most remarkable aspects of this fantastic company, beyond that they help people in need by building homes is how they make them. Did you know that a house can be 3D printed? Amazingly, it can, and that is precisely what New Story does. In 2018, New Story partnered with ICON, a construction technology company, to build Mexico's first 3D-printed community. This innovative approach significantly reduces the time and cost needed to build homes, providing a faster and more scalable solution to homelessness. This month’s newsletter from Valley Restart features an article I got to write as a board member about my experience working with the homeless community. “By inviting those struggling financially to the table, we can have a meaningful relationship that transcends any worldly boundaries. We can share knowledge and resources that will change the trajectory of lives.” That is what the work of Valley Restart is all about! ⭐️ To checkout the work of Valley Restart, explore their website at https://lnkd.in/grVpEVfG. — #homelessness #homelessrehabilitation #nonprofit #nonprofitleadership

Embracing Resilience in the Nonprofit World. Tampa’s Branscomb Hall shall ‘rise like a phoenix.’ This idiom means to emerge renewed after a disaster or destruction. The phoenix is a mythical bird that is associated with renewal and regeneration. It is a symbol of hope, life, and better things to come. After two knockout punches from Helene and Milton, the remaining ‘good bones’ will be home for 20+ motivated, employed, single, homeless men served by Portico Housing Solutions (PHS). https://lnkd.in/ecW8hk6G More than just a housing provider, PHS offers a rigorous 12–18-month program – love, with accountability. Bridging our guests from the street to securing their own permanent housing. In the face of challenges, remember: every setback is a setup for a comeback! Like a phoenix, Branscomb Hall can emerge stronger, more innovative, and fueled by the lessons we have learned. Your help? Visionary ‘Bricks and Mortar’ donors willing to love lavishly. Together, let us embrace the journey of growth, find strength in adversity, and soar to new heights! Donate today - https://lnkd.in/ep4fcTW9 Portico Housing Solutions – catalyst for change. #Resilience #PhoenixRising #Innovation #AffordableHousing

Rebuilding community together, piece by piece. The solution starts when we relate as equal members of one world. We all want a community where everyone can live with dignity. Where we ALL are sheltered, loved, and valued. Join us SecondGrace.LA Comprised of compassionate individuals and small, yet powerful non-profit organizations, we strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need. At SecondGrace.LA, we believe in the power of collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Recognizing that by pooling our resources and expertise, we can make a significant difference in the lives of the unhoused population we serve. By working side-by-side, the unhoused are seen not as others to be helped, but as equal partners in the effort. https://paulasplund.com/

The Lifesavers Conference on Roadway Safety wrapped up day two; I look forward to tomorrow's final day and sessions. That said, especially as a first-timer and executive director of SADD Nation, I want to plant some seeds... ▪️While government has led the charge in funding for #trafficsafety, it cannot be the sole provider toward the cause. Companies, communities, foundations, and individuals have a vested interest in this movement and could absolutely be change-makers through positive, philanthropic donations. ▪️Investing in our #youth is investing in the solution to a problem that hasn't happened yet for them, ultimately not "changing" behaviors, but rather "instilling" behaviors that positively impact lives. Why be reactive when we can be proactive? ▪️Addressing traffic safety without addressing #mentalhealth and #substanceabuse is like showing up to school on the weekend. You have good intentions, but you probably aren't going to get a lot out of it. Stay tuned for tomorrow.... I promise you won't want to miss my thoughts on SADD's next steps and what's coming up for #SADDNation in the coming weeks and months. #sadd #lifesavers24 #youthleadership #engage #empower #mobilize
