Financial Independence. These two words can fulfill the dreams of so many women across the globe. And one of the easiest ways to achieve financial independence is by investing in mutual funds. This Woman's Day, why not begin our journey towards financial independence? Without further ado, let's get started. Step one, figure out your financial goals. Whether you wish to buy a house by the time you're 38 or wish to create a retirement fund. Step 2 Understanding your risk Appetite. Investment advisors usually suggest people who are 35 years or younger to invest in more equity based mutual funds and less in debt funds or fixed income sources since this age group has lesser liabilities and a higher risk appetite as you. Older or if you're in your late 50s, then it's better to stick to more debt funds and fix deposit strategies and reduce equity in your portfolio. Step 3 Offline or online investing. You need to choose whether you plan to invest online or offline. You can find plenty of platforms like Grow or Zerodha or even mutual fund house platforms that will help you invest in mere minutes. Or you can reach out to a Sebi registered investment Advisor offline. Both online and offline require you to submit scanned documents like your PAN card and Aadhar card along with your. Bank Statements. Next, you need to link your bank account to the platform. Initiate the investment process by selecting a mutual fund, transfer the amount you wish to invest as a one time payment or SIP, and then keep track of your investments online. As you gain more understanding about mutual funds, you can make changes to your portfolio. Do make a note that investing offline is time consuming since offline investing will require you to fill out. Physical forms. Each time you invest in a new mutual fund or change any other details, there you go. You are now all set to start your mutual fund investment journey.
