Freelancers can: • Deliver fresh insights and perspectives. • Offer flexibility for short-term projects. • Provide cost-effective solutions for thought leadership pieces. However, sensitive topics or proprietary information often require the depth of in-house expertise. How do you balance the two for a cohesive content strategy? Jenn Greenleaf covers the best practices for working with freelancers to ensure your company’s voice shines through, no matter the topic. 👉 https://buff.ly/4fYdGWR #Freelancers #ContentMarketing

This week I personally reviewed 11 applications for the platform. What's the biggest takeaway? Shhhhh don't tell their bosses... We've had an uptick of people applying to join our Freelancer Membership who are currently full-time at agencies or brands. I see that they apply with a gmail but then when I reference their linkedin, they are full-time somewhere. I take the time to reach out to these people because I pride the fact that we protect our community and reserve it for freelancers ONLY. "Thank you for your application, looks like you're full-time at X which is awesome but unfortunately this membership is for freelancers only. We have a suite of tools available in BETA right now for our agency and brand friends you can check out!" I'd say 98% of the time the response is... "Great to meet you Brad, I'm actually going to leave soon and explore freelance" or "I see the writing on the wall that my employer is downsizing and I think I need to believe in myself and take the leap into freelance." I LOVEEEE that we've become the safe harbor for these extremely talented folks about to take the leap into the freelance world. Come on over, I say, schedule a call with me, jump into all our tools and resources - we are here to help you grow your solopreneur dream, it's why I built the platform. (also, pretty wild that I get the inside scoop on a lot of these people leaving often before anyone else in their circle knows) #freelance #solopreneur #taketheleap #motivation

Not sure what a freelancer can do for your business? Asking the question: why would I hire a freelancer? Okay so you’re at capacity? You’re short on people but the client demands keep coming? A good freelancer can come into your organisation quickly, doesn’t need time to settle in and can hit the ground running. Here’s an example from this week. An email landed on Monday. Did I have any capacity this week to ghost write a comment piece for a client for a trade magazine? The agency was at full capacity internally. 48 hours later I’d done the research, interviewed the client contact (a senior exec) and written the article. 24 hours later the client approved the piece with one minor amend. It’ll be published today. Freelancers. It’s what we do. #freelancers #freelancing #PR #publicrelations

Calling for creative freelancers! I’ve talked to several #creative #freelancers in my network and it seems quite few are struggling with the same topics. Difficult to find new clients, pitches get declined, a lot of administrative boring work, lack of structure in work, uncomfortable negotiations with clients, finding the correct price for the work. Why can’t I just concentrate on my creative skill and someone else handle all the other stuff? Sounds familiar? Or maybe other struggles? Would you be up for a short interview for research purposes? Feel free to complain what sucks, I’ll listen. Maybe I’ll ask you to describe the best case scenario, how would things ideally go. Don’t have to have solutions, but I’m interested to hear what would make your life easier. I am a freelancer myself, but with several years of agency experience in sales, client leading and project management. I would really want to understand the everyday life of creative freelancers and if there is a way to utilise my experience to somehow support the creative. If you’re keen to give your two cents in a short meeting or email interview, please send me a DM or email at tiinatuulia.takala@gmail.com All help is appreciated and is purely research purposes <3 Feel free to pass it on to someone who you know has a thought or two.
