On the last day of 2024, a year that marked our 50th year as the Naval Sea Systems Command, we’re celebrating the milestones we've achieved together as #TheForceBehindTheFleet ▪️This year, we delivered 12 Battle Force Ships and over 200 boats and craft to the US Navy fleet and partnering nations. We delivered over 40 more ships out of maintenance and modernization availabilities, putting more ready players on the field. ▪️We've awarded over 50 billion in contract awards in support of our warfighters, with over 80 new ships currently under contract. ▪️We worked tirelessly to help clear the Fort McHenry Federal Channel after the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, removing over 10K tons of wreckage, demonstrating the world-class capability of our diving and salvage community. ▪️We celebrated Hull Maintenance Technician 1st Class Jennifer Schleuning who was recognized as the Navy’s Sailor of the Year and we continued investing in our workforce and developing our future leaders, graduating over 60 employees from our prestigious leadership continuum programs and fostering the careers of over 230 new Naval Acquisition Development Program hires. We are NAVSEA, and together, we engineer, build, buy, and maintain ships, submarines, and combat systems in support of our Nation’s warfighters.
