Want to take the guesswork out of having a great website? One way to look before you leap is investing in user research. Doing so means learning about the wants and needs of users and improving usability, satisfaction, and engagement. When we design and build websites, we don’t rely on guesswork. Instead, we leverage the discovery phase of a project to conduct user research, enabling us to make strategic decisions that significantly benefit the organization and its users. From #DesignerMindMonday to #SkillShowcaseMonday After engaging with designers from various fields and absorbing their insights, I’m eager to apply what I’ve learned to my own skill set and projects. After all, what good are notes and observations if they’re not put into practice? With this in mind, I’m dedicating this month to expanding my capabilities. Every Monday for the next few weeks, I'll share the skills and knowledge I'm acquiring. #FYI Last week, I began exploring a new book titled "Sprint - How to Solve Big Problems and Test New Ideas in Just 5 Days" by Jake Knapp. This method is highly revered in the UX community, and delving into this book has deepened my understanding of how to effectively implement these sprints and pose the right questions during research phases. Knapp advocates that this methodology can address a wide range of issues, from major challenges to minor tweaks, and is particularly useful in projects with tight deadlines or when validating solutions before full-scale development. Alongside, I've been focusing on the art of question-asking—a critical skill for any designer. We constantly pose questions to various stakeholders throughout a project, so mastering the approach to asking the right questions is essential. This week’s article will dive deep into this very topic: #HowToAskTheWriteQuestionsInTheRightWay? This article content is inspired from internet sources. #UXLearning #UXJobs #ProductDesign #UIUXSkills #NortheasternAlumini

💡 Last week, I attended a product meetup, and a great discussion emerged around conducting user research when you simply can’t reach users. It reminded me of a really good article from the UK’s DWP Digital on the concept of proxy users. DWP Digital, a government department's digital agency defines proxy users as individuals who regularly interact with the hard-to-reach end-users. Often, this might be due to time constraints, the user’s vulnerability, or access limitations. The article is available here: https://lnkd.in/d98pzUns Using proxy users is a valuable workaround. By talking to people who interact with users daily, one can get authentic insights that mirror the real user experience. But proxy users are only one approach, here are a couple more options: 1️⃣ User Analytics Tools: Leverage product analytics data to track real-time user behaviour. 2️⃣ Forums and Reviews: Mine app store reviews, support forums, and online communities where users share feedback. 3️⃣ Social Listening: Follow social media channels for unfiltered user feedback and sentiments. If you’re working in product or UX, this DWP article is a great resource. It's always interesting to find creative ways to be more user-centric, even when direct access is limited! #ProductResearch #UserExperience #ProductManagement #CustomerInsights #ProxyUsers #ResearchTips
