What’s your top fact or favourite encounter with them? ☀️ 🦈- world’s 2nd biggest shark. 💨- biggest fish in the world to breach out of the water. 💪🔥- can keep parts of their body > ocean temperature. 🧠👃- has a tiny brain but a great sense of smell. 🦈- related to great whites & mako sharks. 🥵🥶- found from the tropics to the arctic. 😮- mouth can be up to a metre wide. 🦐- eats zooplankton. 🦷- has >1000 tiny teeth. 🛢️- have a huge liver full of squalene oil 👶- can have 6 pups which are born live. 🗺️- a tracked basking shark travelled >8000km straight line track. 🤿- a tagged shark dived to 1264m deep. 🏴- world’s first basking shark marine protected area. 🎣- previously heavily hunted around the west coast of 🏴 & 🇮🇪
