Volunteer Coordinator Duties Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately March - January, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year. Major Duties: The incumbent of this position will work at Vicksburg National Military Park on park-wide volunteer programs working closely with the Program Manager-Visitor Experience and Outreach. The incumbent provides service to and collaborates with all park teams. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the park-wide volunteer program including the assessment of needs, recruitment, training, placement, monitoring, safety, overall program evaluation and parkwide recognition. Serves as the primary contact and liaison for potential and current volunteers and volunteer groups and responsible for developing and maintaining new volunteer partnerships in support of the parks. Plans, develops, and organizes special volunteer project activities/events and coordinates logistical and administrative elements associated with such projects/events. Coordinates large scale volunteer activities such as quarterly parkwide volunteer days. Works with park staff to identify and plan new volunteer opportunities and initiatives. Responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting on volunteer hours and volunteer program budget.
