This sentiment beautifully captures the essence of compassion and community. While we may not have the capacity to help everyone, we all possess the ability to make a meaningful difference in someone else's life, no matter how small the gesture. Whether it's offering a kind word, lending a helping hand, or simply being there to listen, each act of kindness has the power to create ripple effects of positivity and support. By embracing this mindset, we cultivate a culture of empathy and solidarity, where everyone feels valued and supported. Let's remember that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a profound impact. Together, we can build a more compassionate and caring world, one person at a time. ❤️

When is "hitting our number" a bad thing? When we do so by pulling rabbits out of hats. If we hit our number by relying on 1x random heroic acts, then we avoided the hard work of building something repeatable. But guess what. This year's target is next year's baseline. So now we need TWO rabbits to hit next year's number. And the hole gets deeper. #systemsthinking

Breaking the Cycle: A Reflection on Growth and Healing This post deeply resonates with me, as a therapist, a mother, and a child of significant developmental violence. For many of us, parenthood brings profound realizations about our own childhoods. It can be a time of confronting the pain of what was and committing to a different path for our children, and the possibility of deeply connecting with the young parts within whom have yearned for this healing. To those who’ve had the eye-opening and heart-wrenching experience of recognizing how you were harmed as a child—and then making the courageous choice to treat your children and your young parts differently—you are doing transformative, life-changing work, intergenerational healing work that will ripple. Breaking the cycle of generational trauma isn’t easy. It takes relentless self-reflection, unwavering love, and the willingness to confront deeply held wounds. But it is also one of the most sacred acts of healing, not only for your family but for the generations to come. As a trauma therapist and person with a history of significant trauma, I’ve seen how this journey can be both painful and profoundly empowering. And as a parent who has walked this path, I know the weight of what you carry and the beauty of what you are building. Take deep breaths and find a compassionate nest to fall into whether with a therapist, partner, friend or community, but please keep going. ❤️🩹🫶🏻 To every cycle breaker: I see you. You are doing the work that changes lives. #CycleBreakers #TraumaHealing #GenerationalHealing #ParentingWithIntention #EmbodiedIlluminationPsychotherapy

This post is for everyone who follows me who realised they were abused by their own parents, when they became parents themselves… and then realised that they could never treat their own kids the way they were treated. It’s eye-opening, and extremely painful - but it’s life changing. YOU are the cycle breaker.
