The authors are spot-on: "The cyberspace expertise resident within each service is tailored to the unique mission and domain-specific requirements for the cyberspace elements supporting the warfighting platforms in the physical domains (land, air, maritime and space.)" Creating separate services creates bureaucratic barriers that induce friction into a situation where it is already rife. We should be simplifying the means of support for commanders rather than making them coordinate with other agencies who have their own interests and institutional cultures.

The Marine Corps’ contributions to CJADC2 are increasingly dependent on high-cost, exquisite systems, particularly in the air and space domains—systems that lack the risk diversity needed in a contested environment and are called for by the SIF concept. 💥 Finally, we highlight the need to close kill chains with a more diversified and deeper arsenal of SIF owned munitions, ensuring greater resilience and flexibility in future conflicts. Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. James C. Slife said the service was has a “decisive advantage” in training, operations, maintenance, and logistics offered by the data produced by digital flight systems, as reported by Air & Space Forces Magazine. General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), announced today that it was awarded a $922 million contract to modernize the U.S. Central Command’s (CENTCOM) enterprise IT infrastructure. The new contract, awarded in February by the General Services Administration, has a one-year base period and five option years. CENTCOM directs and enables military operations and activities with allies and partners to increase regional security and stability in support of enduring U.S. interests.
