What is quality? The National Association for Healthcare Quality® (NAHQ®) has launched "The Power of Q" campaign to redefine and standardize the concept of quality in healthcare. 🔍 Research by NAHQ revealed that the healthcare community has diverse definitions of quality, hindering progress in achieving quality goals. To address this, NAHQ aims to establish a universal definition of quality to enhance patient outcomes. 🏥 As Stephanie Mercado CAE CPHQ, CEO of NAHQ, stated, "When stakeholders can't even agree on definitions of quality, that limits our ability to achieve quality goals." 💡 "The Power of Q" campaign emphasizes the importance of "BIG Q Quality," focusing on comprehensive quality improvements in patient care, from the operating room to the boardroom. This is an important campaign for our team here at Medovent Solutions, because helping to improve Quality is a large mission of ours. A crucial step to quality improvement, is establishing a defined foundation to build upon. Doing the right thing is hard, and often requires significant investment up front with faith it will pay off over time. That is true of changing care models for providers, and that is also true of the Independence Blue Cross clinical care innovation program. We set up the program to make that hard job easier- to enable the engine of care innovation to run faster by subsidizing the up-front investments, providing capacity to gather and prioritize ideas, assess business cases, and setting up studies or pilots in a way that would let us assess whether they work and defining a path to scale. We’re improving the program every day- but the grants and pilots we’ve enabled in collaboration with our network health systems have already improved care and outcomes for many. This Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Brand Innovation award is a great recognition of our hard work so far (huge team effort but much credit to Patrick Dudley Bonnie Clothier, PhD, RN Alison Devers Arbacheski ), and an encouragement to keep going and keep improving.
