Breaking Barriers: Encouraging Men into Early Years Education Today, we had the privilege of attending a powerful speech on encouraging more men to join the early years sector. It was an eye-opening experience that highlighted the challenges, but also the opportunities, for creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce. The discussion emphasised the importance of challenging stereotypes, showcasing male role models, and ensuring workplaces are welcoming and supportive for everyone. It’s a message that truly resonates with us as an apprenticeship provider, as we work to inspire individuals from all backgrounds to explore the rewarding career paths available in early years education. We’re more determined than ever to support initiatives that break down barriers and create opportunities for everyone. To our network: how can we continue to encourage more men to take up these vital roles? We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas! Together, we can ensure the early years workforce reflects the diversity of the children and families it serves. #EarlyYears #DiversityInEducation #BreakingBarriers #Apprenticeships #MITEY Claudio Sisera Lifetime Poppy Davies Patrick Nicholas

Guess what? Young people DO want to work. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Mark Beirne, Director of Cara of EPS , and he’s living proof that the old narrative about young people being lazy or unwilling to work is not true. Mark’s apprenticeship programme is changing lives, giving young, unemployed people the opportunity they deserve to thrive in the industry. His apprentices show up, work hard, and bring fresh perspectives to the table. 💡 These young individuals are hungry for opportunity. It’s not about their willingness to work—it’s about whether we’re willing to create the spaces for them to succeed. Let’s challenge the outdated stigma. Let’s invest in the future by creating more opportunities, just like Mark and his team are doing. It’s time to break barriers, not build them. 💥 #Apprenticeships #FutureOfWork #YouthEmployment #ConstructionInnovation

Day 2 #YMSLDN - Our last SMRS team outing, serving a beautiful collaboration from Jackie Grisdale and Vicky Conroy on attracting students through conversations about careers and employability. A subject close to my heart from my University of Central Lancashire days - How can we effectively engage young people in conversations about choosing the right destination for their future? Additionally, what is the value of your university's career proposition - what are you selling to future students - is it enough? #studentrecruitment #highereducation #degreeapprenticeships #highereducationmarketing #CEIAG

It may be controversial but.... Yes - GCSE results DO matter. ⬇️ -They matter very much to the child who eagerly unveiled their results this morning. - To the family that anxiously awaited today, losing sleep the night before. - To that young person who has just learned that all their hard work and dedication paid off. - To the pupil who has endured years of education, absorbing knowledge, heeding advice, persevering, and striving to improve. - They hold huge significance to the young individual who made sacrifices these last six months; missing out on parties, and going out with friends, compromising their hobbies to put in hours of revision. 👏👏👏Those grades serve as proof of accomplishment, effort, and the pinnacle of their school journey. BUT - for those that didn't achieve their desired results, there are ALWAYS options. Even if you didn't get your Grade 4 in English and maths, you can still explore the apprenticeship route. At Swarm, we have a dedicated Functional Skills tutor who can guide you towards those qualifications alongside your apprenticeship. If you're a business looking for new talent, do get in touch with Swarm Recruitment who can help you find the perfect match for your organisation. #gcseresults #apprenticeships #apprenticelife

🌟 Good luck to all A-level students receiving their results today! 🌟 To those who have achieved the grades they were aiming for—congratulations! Your hard work has paid off, and you’re now ready to take the next step in your journey. 🎉 For those who didn’t quite get the results they were hoping for, remember that this is just one of many paths to success. There are plenty of options available, from foundation degrees to apprenticeships, that can still lead you to your dreams. Your journey is unique, and sometimes the road less traveled offers the most rewarding experiences. Whatever your results today, be proud of what you’ve accomplished, and know that your future is full of potential. Life is a marathon not a sprint. #ALevelResultsDay #GoodLuck #NewBeginnings #FoundationDegrees #Apprenticeships #FutureOpportunities

From Uncertainty to Mastery: The Transformative Journey of an Apprentice I have been thinking a lot about the journey of an apprentice. It starts with uncertainty and invisibility. As someone begins this path, the future can seem unclear and daunting. However, apprentices can gradually shape and recognise their potential by establishing realistic and attainable goals. Setting these goals acts as a supportive guide, steering the apprentice through their learning process and allowing them to concentrate on specific areas for growth. These goals transform the abstract vision of their capabilities and future careers into something tangible, offering evidence of progress and results. This process facilitates shifting from potential and learning to actual achievements and competencies. By the end of the apprenticeship, the once uncertain sense of direction is replaced by concrete skills and career aspirations, turning an apprentice's initial doubts into visible, real-world accomplishments. #Apprenticeship #ApprenticeshipJourney

✨ From Phone Fear to Passion ✨ I used to dread making phone calls. The anxiety of waiting for someone to answer was overwhelming. But working at Northern Skills has completely transformed my perspective. 💫 Now, I genuinely look forward to phoning students who are eager to progress into apprenticeships. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing young people share their dreams and ambitions. 💭 Helping students start on their career paths they’ve been dreaming of is a privilege, especially when they are so excited they scream down the phone! (RIP my ears 😅) Here’s to turning fears into passions and helping the next generation thrive! 🌟 #northernskills #progression #apprenticeships #career #apprentice

Parents and carers have a huge influence on their child's careers decisions. So it's important they have up to date and accurate knowledge about different careers and pathways, including #apprenticeships and technical routes. As Oscar, apprentice and one of our Youth Advisory Group members, says, there are still misconceptions associated with apprenticeships, including from parents, which can be a big barrier to their uptake for young people. Our free CPD is designed to help Careers Leaders effectively embed parent and carer engagement in #careers, giving them the confidence they need to have impactful careers conversations with their children. ⭐ Explore the CPD and start supporting parents and carers today: https://bit.ly/3Xl3OPa ⭐
