Terrorism and Radicalization Researcher | Hoping to make the world a safer place one analysis at a time
„Anti-Government Extremism as a New Hybrid Threat? Exploring the Nexus of Pandemic, Conspiracy Theories and Social Media“. Last September, I had the opportunity to present my doctoral project under this title at the 2nd Scientific Conference of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV)). In my research, I explore the extent to which the theoretical approach of "Anti-Government Extremism" can grasp and thus help to understand heterogeneous online milieus encompassing Querdenken, Reichsbürger, and QAnon movements. The full presentation is now available in German here: https://lnkd.in/eHm-YKxC Last week, I presented some initial findings at this year's MOTRA-K Annual Conference at the Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt) in Wiesbaden. The conference theme reflects where we are currently headed: Towards the transformation of extremism and intolerance in Germany and Europe. Therefore, I not only appreciated the opportunity to share my perspectives but, given the current challenges, I was especially grateful for the chance to exchange ideas on potential solutions. With that in mind: Back to work!
