I don't post for teachers often, so I'll get back to the regularly scheduled program in a moment. But for now… ⤵️ I want to address an important topic: Teachers raise expectations for your Black and Brown students!! Lowering expectations is absolutely NOT how you attend to their needs. Every student, regardless of their background, deserves to be challenged academically. By raising our expectations, we show these students that we believe in their potential and capabilities. It's about creating an environment where they feel valued and supported, where their minds are engaged and their hearts are inspired. Let's commit to challenging their minds to win their hearts. Empower them with rigorous academics and high standards, and watch them rise to meet and exceed those expectations. How have you seen higher expectations positively impact students in your classroom? #schoolleaders #edleadership #whenbrowngirlslead

With the annual cost of private education often exceeding the annual cost of in-state university (in some cases by thousands of dollars), are parents who consider this option truly asking the questions they should (and want to) when choosing a school for their child? In my experience, most don't. Why not? Fear doing so may somehow be held against them in the application process. Here are just a few of the questions parents ought to be able to freely ask during the admissions process. In my view, all are equally important: 1. What steps do you take to keep drugs and alcohol from being available on your campus? 2. What is your five-year acceptance rate for your seniors who apply to an in-state public university? 3. How many of your seniors have been accepted to their first-choice college or university over the past five years? 4. How to you manage an under-performing teacher? There are many others. "Transparency" is more than a concept. The fundamental responsibility of any school leader is to make it clear through the institution's words and actions that it exists to serve and support families. #demonstratevalue #familiesfirst #education #leadership #schools #leaders

Crux of School Education Observing the decay in societal integrity and harmony, coupled with serious flaws in the character/courage of conviction in the top leadership across the spectrum, I feel like analysing - has the school education to do anything about it ? The answers may emerge from a thorough research/analytics, but some pointers that emerge - Does school education build character ? Is the school curriculum more about academics or does the pedagogy include intangible facets of human life ? What must NCF prioritise at school level - character/talent/civic sense(societal inclusivity)/academics ? If school life is characterised by 5 different age-groups, then have we empowered the educators to distinctly address the learning objectives during each phase of school life ? Does there exist a structured programme to identify/groom/select school leadership (lacs of Principals) to do justice to child growth/development in schools ? Before branding themselves as 'cradles of leadership', are the schools grooming children to become responsible adults ? First thoughts actually ! #education #schooleducation #childgrowth #principal #schoolleadership #mentoring #grooming #childdevelopment #NCF #schoolcurriculum

🫂 Ensuring that every student feels valued and has access to necessary resources and high-quality opportunities for growth and success is central to our work in the charter school system. Charter school leaders achieve this by curating curriculums which honor the unique identities and diverse backgrounds of each student. More educators and leaders need to recognize the different needs and lived experiences of their students. This is a necessary step in working towards a more equitable future for all. ⬇️ How do you demonstrate equity in your classroom?
