It might be tempting to adopt the trendiest new innovations or to keep up with the tech offerings of the competition. But if it doesn’t fit your organization, it’s going to be much like the sports car for the mountain dweller. Fortunately, owners and operators can take steps to ensure that the tech they adopt moves the needle in a positive direction. #multifamily

This applies to everyone who wants to start a side hustle or launch a product / service. Get people to validate your idea. Preorder to see if people will vote with their cash. Low numbers? Cancel and refund. High numbers? Get to work building a 1.0 and ship it. Nothing stays static in a box anymore, so don't aim for perfection and aim for validation.

We go to market first - test with real customers - and only if people buy the new product do we let it become a reality. Sounds crazy. 🚀The relay Race of Innovation: From Invention to Impact 🚀 In the world of innovation, the journey from an idea to a product changing lives is akin to a relay race. This journey underscores a powerful truth: innovation is a team sport. 🧠The first leg of this race begins with the inventors, the brilliant minds who dare to dream and create. Their groundbreaking ideas are the baton they carry. And so the race begins. 🔏It is crucial for these ideas to be passed on seamlessly - first to the institutional IP or technology transfer offices (or IP practitioners), to ensures that the invention is protected. This protection affords the legal backbone to thrive in the competitive marketplace. 🛠️The baton then needs to be passed to those who specialize in product refinement ( may be product development and incubation process). This stage enables the fine-tuning of the invention, enhancing its potential for real-world application and meeting market needs. 💼 The final leg of this relay is perhaps the most critical: commercialization. This is where ideas truly come to life, reaching the hands and hearts of consumers. This stage is driven by a team(s) whose goal is to ensure that the innovation meets the market, with a dedicatio to scaling and distributing the product effectively. 🏃🏾♀️🏃♂️🏃🏾♀️Throughout this relay, each runner plays a vital role. Without the careful handover of the baton - the idea - at each stage, the race can be lost. This metaphor reminds us that innovation thrives on teamwork and cooperation. It is a collective effort, demanding diverse skills and perspectives. As we innovate, let us remember the importance of this seamless transition at every step. It is not just about the idea or the end product; it's about how we work together to bring that idea to life. Our 3-year URBAN TECH Project is coming to an end.🔥 The project supported the acceleration of competitive success of European SMEs through market launch of new or significantly improved products and services with higher value in Health Tech, Smart City and Greentech industry sectors. 🚀 In the last 3 years, the URBAN TECH programme provided an opportunity for solution providers to propose solutions to more than 300 challenges. The more than 160 companies were able to validate the solution with Challenge Owners during the Hackathons.  80 companies were selected to develop an MVP and 33 were able to do Piloting with the help of mentor and experts.  Out of the 33 selected companies, 23 continued to a Market Discovery Phase. In the end, 12 solution providers have been selected for the Final Event of the project to compete in the final Pitch Competition. A side project sits away from your main source of income, but can link to all you do.   I am embracing a project called Park Life On Tour.    While I’ve shared lots about the Dorset Innovation Park and Defence BattleLab through Park Life, it’s time to take this on the road.   I’ll explore and share what innovation means across various UK innovation centres, science parks, and business clusters.   With just my phone, I’ll document the visits and improve my content creation skills.   I am doing this for the business as well.   I want us to be part of the bigger story. I want to introduce another aspect to the business, so that clients and potential clients can see that we offer much more than just one service.   The intention behind this approach is genuine – it's about sharing, learning, supporting, and being part of the larger narrative.   Success comes from the energy and willingness you bring to the table.   It’s the effort you put in, the skills you refine, and the ability to experiment and innovate that encourages others to join in and contribute to the overall business effort.
