When business people don't know what they want in the report... How to quickly iterate on reports in event-driven apps? It's often a challenge to understand business requirements when it comes to reports - often business is not sure what they want. The fastest way is to iterate and show them the reports based on the real data - when they see it, they can tell you what's wrong. With events, the solution is easy - just build a projection in a few lines of code. Deploy it (maybe behind a feature flag) and ask if it's right. The write a test that captures the business corrections. Fix the projection. Tests pass. Deploy and repeat. Once the business is happy with what they see, you can optimize it by turning this into a persisted read model. The tests stay the same, which is nice. Here is a simple projection shown on the problem of "how many times we had Tasks being reopen?" The business problem could be - detecting where and why (by whom?) we describe tasks insufficiently. https://lnkd.in/deMuxnux
