It’s easy to fall into the habit of settling for who we are right now and getting comfortable. 🙋♀️ I’m guilty of it too. And that’s okay. Every version of you is valuable and worthy. But that version of yourself you’re dreaming of becoming—whether it’s mastering a new skill or getting a promotion—what’s stopping you? A way I help my clients envision who they want to become and how to get there is by writing their Brilliant Difference™ stories. Your Brilliant Difference™ is a performance growth beacon, helping you rise up to who you are, the value you deliver, and the impact you have on your team and clients. It’s your signature statement and story that you can come back to, reminding you of your full potential, what you’re capable of, and who you want to become. When I hired a member of my team last year, I coached her through the same process. And now? She’s miles closer to who she wants to be “tomorrow.” She’s much clearer in her role and how she wants to grow with the business, Finka Inc. 🎧 But don’t just hear it from me! Tune into the full story and hear her experience: https://lnkd.in/gvmZqqSU

Friday food for thought, a reminder to myself after speaking to a fellow product geek Vijith Quadros: High level "head of’s" are best to evaluate the macro picture by analysing win/loss deals, where as ground level product managers are best to evaluate how well the product delivers a specific product promise through customer interviews and analysing “job level” product metrics. This means that when analysing lost deals, ask yourself: Is the loss due to how well the product delivers promised value X? If so, take that insight to the product manager to have them dig into how to improve it with customers. Is the loss instead about priority or budget? Take that the "Head Of" to review the larger product strategy in case they need to realign it to changing macro conditions.

This is where people misunderstand the term “listening to customers” Listening to customers is not doing or building what they ask for. Interpretations plays a crucial role in understanding what they say, how they behave with the systems and services you build. Steve jobs explains the same thing in a video, where he adds that we (as in people who build products - in apple) are paid to do what is best for the customer and not what they ask for, listening is a way to find what’s best for them. Stats of how many people want what feature won’t cut it.

This is the game... listening can inform everything you do from the content you put out to the investments you potentially make. Take your cues straight from the source: customers Whether in business or in life, have a genuine interest in human beings and what makes them tick. I’m always looking to understand what people are giving their attention to and why. Since my early days at Wine Library, “listening” has been the foundation of my business career. Watching consumer behavior, being creative, putting in the hours, being consumer centric, making things easier for people to make decisions aka eliminating friction... These are all things I learned as a kid … my young friends, get the reps in, do the work, get the hours in, get the learnings, winning comes form the process not the hope ❤️❤️❤️

Event data is only as valuable as the humans behind it. 🫀 If you’re not understanding your audience’s needs, you’re missing the chance to grow with them.📈

3 things you absolutely must stop doing as a Product Manager: 1️⃣ Stop ignoring your gut instinct - Don't dismiss your intuition as just a hunch. Your instincts are based on subconscious pattern recognition and experience - use them. 2️⃣ Stop overcomplicating the Roadmap - Simplify your roadmap to focus on high-impact initiatives and clear priorities. Overcomplicating it with too many features and details will lead to diluted efforts. 3️⃣ Stop chasing perfection - Waiting for a perfect product or feature will delay progress and waste resources. Focus on iterating based on real-world feedback. 〰〰〰 Follow Reham for more Product content. Don't forget to hit the 🔔 to receive my future posts. Got burning product questions? 🔥 Drop them here:

Happy Good Friday to those of my friends who celebrate. And a comic for ALL my friends and contacts that relates to something that has been on my mind: Sometimes we try very hard to put the formless into form, to make sense of things in words or pictures. Intuition that is informed by experience has served me well, even when it's just a floater outside my immediate view that isn't easy to describe. Does it exist if I can't hold it in my hand? To tie this to business: ⭐ As a Product Manager, I use intuition and customer observation as my primary tools that have served me well. ⭐ It's truly fun to sit back and try to see what you can see out of the corners of your observation view. Keep an eye out for your floaters because often they have something to say. A favorite Family Guy clip is in the comments

Client and I had 12 minutes for a squeezed phone call yesterday. Here's what we covered. 1. What did you learn last week? 2. What do you want to learn this week? 3. What must you let go of this week? 4. What needs your attention this week? 5. Who needs your attention this week? 6. Is there anything you're going to recommit to? 7. What’s the most important message/reminder you need to hold on to this week? 8. What else do you need? I'm keeping this question set in the back pocket for later. Feel free to take what works and throw away what doesn't. This could work with any regular meeting - team or 1:1. By the way... We finished early ;) TDLR: Be careful of the fallacy that time = effectiveness. Stay awesome, Seb

Aaand... 𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱. Oof! 🪦 No, really—no clickbait here. Thursday marked my last day as an employee; my contract was terminated just before the end of the trial period. ✨But surprisingly, 𝗜'𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆. Not entirely complete, but happy.✨ Here’s why: ✅ Ending your journey 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 mean ending badly: I have immense respect for Perspective Developing People S.r.l., its mission, and its amazing team, which I'll miss! ✅ No time is 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 when you’re learning: Over three months, I picked up new skills, and left a positive mark as well. ✅ Contracts are temporary; 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 are timeless: I’ve met fantastic people who made the experience worthwhile. This experience has given me fresh perspectives on both personal and professional levels. And we'll both be happy to work with each other, that's a win-win I'll happily take! So, without making an infinite list of people I'm grateful to, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀, 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, and I hope to see you soon! And now, my adventure has to go 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, here is what I am looking for: 🎉 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀: Available for impactful L&D projects, both short or long-term. 🦄 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹-𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆: I’m energized by fast-paced, innovative cultures with flat hierarchies. I thrive in environments where creativity and growth are valued. ✨ 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Looking to lead or support initiatives that create meaningful learning experiences. 🚨 PS: Any chance to work with ESTIEMers gets extra points! 🚨 If you know of any opportunities, or simply want to chat about all things Learning & Development, feel free to reach out—𝗜’𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁! Here is my Calendly to book a coffee chat with me: https://lnkd.in/dDH2nmc6 ☕ Now, I can have some more free time to 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 fellow educators, and you know what that means, ay? We always aim for the big win: “Let’s completely transform our product and blow our users away!” We always looking for the big moment: “We’re going to revolutionize the user experience!” But... Big wins aren’t planned overnight. Big moments don’t happen by accident. Both are built on small, deliberate actions that create momentum. In their book The Power of Moments, Chip Heath and Dan Heath explain how small, meaningful moments can drive lasting impact. The same principle applies to product development, team dynamics, and user experiences: ✔️ Fix one high-impact user pain point. ✔️ Reduce friction in one key flow. ✔️ Align your team on one priority for the quarter. Small wins like these create trust, fuel confidence, and drive momentum—not just for your product, but for your team. What’s one small win you’re focusing on by the end of this year? P.S. Don’t forget to celebrate those small wins—they’re the building blocks of something amazing!
