Mott MacDonald’s Post

Did you know that we designed the landmark bridge that forms the backdrop to the popular TV show Derry Girls? 🌉 On 18 July 1933, the Craigavon Bridge in Derry/Londonderry was officially opened in front an audience of over 20,000 spectators and declared a gift to the people of the city. The bridge designer David Anderson of our predecessor company Mott, Hay & Anderson participated in the opening ceremony of the unique 390m long, double deck, steel truss crossing that was delivered in collaboration with contractor, Dorman, Long & Co. As one of the most iconic projects we've helped to deliver, our work on Craigavon Bridge laid the foundation for over 70 years of engineering innovation on the island. Today, we’re applying technical expertise to help lay strong foundations for growth, maintain and improve essential infrastructure, and guide the transition to a low carbon energy future.
