Biomega e-bikes bring Scandinavian design and innovation to today’s urban lifestyles. 4 Key Design Principles According to visionary designer and Biomega founder Jens Martin Skibsted, Biomega’s DNA incorporates four key design principles. SIMPLICITY: Brings aesthetic quality. DURABILITY: Goes a long way to keeping the bike away from the mechanic. VISIBILITY: If it’s beautiful it will be more noticeable. INTEGRATION: For the whole to be more than the sum of its parts. Skibsted's Visionary Perspective In an article Jens Martin wrote entitled, “Four Design Principles to Change Car Drivers to Bike Riders," published by Core77, Skibsted writes, “Taken together these four principles guide the design of a bike as a singular object created for a specific purpose, to create something that can measure up and compete with rival modes of transportation such as a car.” The full article can be read at https://lnkd.in/g9hE94uU Information on Jens Martin’s newest e-bike design, the lightweight (under 16 kg in aluminum with battery onboard) urban/commuter BER, and its special introductory price can be found at https://lnkd.in/gYfzJ-3h. "A curated view of where innovation is happening in marketing today, why it matters, and how it is transforming modern business". --- Retro aesthetic. To try to be open, objective, and curious, I often push beyond my personal tastes in creating this content, believing it's a good exercise for creativity. While always looking at innovation from a professional standpoint, I discover truly unique things that I never would have imagined in terms of design, style, and industrialization. A new and revolutionary electric vehicle for personal mobility (PEV) is arriving from Turkey, midway between a sidecar and a scooter, designed exclusively for city use. It's called the Lámpago Electric Trike, a three-wheeled electric motorcycle with a retro aesthetic reminiscent of 1960s or 1970s scooter design like the Vespa or Lambretta. Its appearance is truly captivating, achieving a retro vibe through the work of its three designers: Yavuz Cinkaya, Osman Colcak, and Selen Sarkaya, both in terms of its shapes and the accessories they've equipped their creation with. Its open body accommodates two passengers in tandem, with the rear occupant seated higher and a small trunk at the back. 🙌 What’s your take? # 338 TRANSPORTATIONS, Turkey 👉 More content on our website and subscribe to the weekly newsletter; the link to the featured news is in the first comment below. 🎯 If you want to learn more about our transformative approach to generating growth (yes, what we call innovation marketing!), feel free to write me privately. This company grew its ROI by a staggering 3800% by implementing Design Thinking! In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, companies are increasingly recognizing the power of Design Thinking as a strategic approach to problem-solving and innovation. Design Thinking is a human-centred methodology that combines empathy, creativity, and iterative processes to develop solutions that address real-world challenges effectively. Companies that have embraced Design Thinking have witnessed remarkable benefits, including improved customer experiences, increased operational efficiency, and enhanced competitive advantage. According to a report by the Design Management Institute, design-driven companies outperformed the S&P 500 by a staggering 211% over a 10-year period (2004-2014). One company that has successfully implemented Design Thinking is Brompton Bicycle, a renowned British manufacturer of folding bicycles. Faced with the challenge of catering to the diverse needs of urban commuters, Brompton adopted a Design Thinking approach to revolutionize its product offerings. By conducting extensive user research and empathizing with their customers, Brompton gained valuable insights into the pain points and preferences of city cyclists. This led to the development of innovative features, such as a lightweight yet sturdy frame, easy folding mechanisms, and customizable options to suit individual styles and preferences. According to a report by the Design Council, Brompton's investment in design and user-centric approach has yielded a staggering return on investment of over 3800%. The success of Brompton Bicycle exemplifies the power of Design Thinking in fostering innovation, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving business growth. As the world becomes increasingly complex and consumer demands evolve rapidly, embracing Design Thinking is no longer a luxury but a necessity for companies seeking to stay ahead of the curve. #designthinking #businessstrategy #innovation

Rediscovering the Joy of Design in its Purest Form Earlier this year, I had the privilege of attending a ski-making workshop with Swiss Olympian and world champion downhill ski racer Bruno Kernen. 🏔️⛷️ We began by skiing together to test different ski designs to find the right fit for me. The following days were spent alongside ski craftsmen to build my own custom skis. It was a deeply gratifying experience that reconnected me with the tangible and tactile side of design. At Design Sojourn, much of my daily work focuses on design strategy, digital transformation, customer experiences, and innovation. Much of the work is what one would call "knowledge work". However, this hands-on experience brought me back to why I decided to be a designer in the first place: the joy of creating something beautiful and real. The experience reminded me of the ideas expressed by Robert Pirsig in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and Matthew Crawford in The Case for Working With Your Hands. Crawford talks about how knowledge work, especially in large organisations, can sometimes feel detached from tangible outcomes. This happens when we don’t immediately see the direct impact of our efforts, and work feels abstract. Working with your hands, however, brings an immediate sense of accomplishment and fulfilment as the results are right in front of you. Pirsig, too, reminds us that quality emerges when thought and action are united in mindful craftsmanship. This workshop reignited my passion for design, reminding me that there is a profound value when we bridge strategy with execution. For those of us who primarily design work is in strategy or research, I encourage you to explore the act of making something tangible from time to time. Whether it’s a side project, a prototype, or simply getting your hands dirty in a different medium (like cooking!), reconnecting with the physical side of design can spark new insights and creativity. I hope this post inspires you to do the same. Leave a comment below to let me know if you have done something similar. PS: Enjoy the video! #design #innovation #industrialdesign #skilife #strategicdesign #craftsmanship #joyofmaking #designthinking #ski #skimaking

𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗨𝗦 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡 🚀 Let René Renger, founder and Designer of the Novusbike give you a little insight about the Design of the Novus One. NOVUS DESIGN = PURPOSE DESIGN 🚀 In contrast to conversion design, 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁. In conversion design, products are designed in an evolutionary way; a new product is then created by improving and optimising its predecessor. Products that are designed with conversion design approaches always create trust because they refer to a history and create trust through familiarity. 🚀 At Novus, however, we didn't think about how we could make a motorbike better, but we asked ourselves the fundamental question of what an urban premium electric motorbike would look like and we took all the freedom we needed to consistently implement our ideas. 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻! 🚀 What is a purpose? A purpose is a corporate purpose, a mission statement or a declaration of intent that goes beyond profit-orientation. 🚀 Corporate purpose In a purpose statement, a company or an economic organisation defines a goal that goes beyond profit. In Simon Sinek's "Golden Circle" model, the WHY reflects the purpose. A purpose is our innermost motivation to do something. Be ahead https://lnkd.in/eukrHkXc #design #industrialdesign #id #motorcycles #ev #innovation #purpose
