🎉Here’s to 20 years of a successful relationship and many more to come 🎉 Recently, the Ports of San Diego and Ensenada, celebrated 20 years of a successful relationship and signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The new MOU symbolizes the extension of the two ports’ cooperative relationship and outlines the following key initiatives: 🛳️ Expanding Cruise Business Opportunities: Both ports aim to increase the amount of cruise ships docking at their facilities. 🌿Aquaculture: This collaboration focuses on advancing sustainable aquaculture practices to support the regional economy and promote environmental stewardship. ✨ Ferry Service Between Ensenada & San Diego: A proposed ferry service aimed to connect the two ports, improving travel and commerce between the U.S. and Mexico. 1854-2024: 170 YEARS OF SERVICE TO MALTA MARITIME COMMUNITY AND PLANTNG OF 10,000 TREES THE GOLLCHER GROUP is celebrating another significant milestone – its 170th anniversary. The History of the Gollcher Group goes back to 1854 when Olof Fredrik Gollcher, a Swede who settled in Malta established O.F. Gollcher & Sons. When he first arrived in Malta a few years earlier in 1848 on his father`s vessel “Swalan”, few would have thought that the business he was to found would prosper and become a leader in Malta’s maritime industry. As the company proudly commemorates its 170th anniversary, it is fitting to recall its generous legacy to Malta`s transport heritage by continuing to offer a wide range of services to the community:, Ship and Liner Agency, Freight Forwarding, Courier, Lloyds Agency (since 1883), P&I Correspondents and Marine Surveyors, and Marine Surveying, Malta Ship Registration and Travel. Inspired by the motto ” Framåt ”, which means “forward”, the Group is strategically positioned to adapt and navigate through challenges posed by the fast changing industries in which it operates. At this time an ESG initiative in honour of this milestone was announced - the planting of 10,000 trees in Africa. Honouring the decades of work by Elders to assert their cultural authority and rights to sea country and driving genuine partnerships across the Reef, ReefTO is empowering Reef Traditional Owners through the Taskforce to shape the future of the Reef and its interconnected Country. Together, we're building genuine partnerships to protect, manage and nurture the Reef for generations to come. ReefTO has three powerful priorities that we're focused on for the next 2-3 years. Our first objective is to engage with Reef Traditional Owners on options for a Sea Country Alliance (Reef-wide and regionally) and implement the preferred option. How will we do that?
