Community. It’s more than just a word; it’s the heartbeat of our lives. No matter where you come from or what stage you’re at, we’re all wired to connect. Whether it’s family, friends, neighbors, or even a virtual group we vibe with, community is where we find shared experiences, encouragement, and, honestly, a reminder that we’re not in this alone. When life gets challenging, it’s often the community that pulls us through. After my own life experiences, I’ve come to see that community isn’t just something nice to have; it’s essential. It’s about finding those people who lift you up when you need it, celebrate with you, hold you accountable, and walk alongside you through the ups and downs. Life can get busy, and it’s easy to feel like we’re all on our own little islands. But true community keeps us grounded, inspired, and growing. Being part of a community is also about giving—it’s pouring love and support back into others. When we lift each other up, we’re not only impacting others but growing and learning ourselves. It’s a beautiful cycle of encouragement, kindness, and understanding that feeds our soul. So whether it’s through family gatherings, work, creative pursuits, or just sharing life over a cup of coffee, let’s embrace and nurture our communities. Life is fuller, brighter, and way more fun when we’re in it together!

Building a community around your personal brand isn't rocket science. But sometimes it feels like it. Participating in relevant groups, networking, and making your presence felt online is tough. But the long-term payoff is worth it. The best way to foster a sense of community is by being a value-giver. Here are some tips to get you started: 👉 Give advice, even if it doesn't benefit you. 👉 Share personal anecdotes or stories. 👉 Ask for help or feedback. 👉 Celebrate the wins of others. 👉 Offer a different perspective. This kind of value-giving fosters a sense of trust and belonging. It's the foundation of a community. And remember, building a community takes time. Don't expect immediate results. But if you keep at it, you'll see the benefits in the long run. So, don't be afraid to start engaging with like-minded people today.

On Saturday, we celebrated the first birthday of one of my passion projects, the Launch Community. The Launch Community is a facilitation experiment where we play with the tools we need to build community across difference. We're an "unlikely community" of people because we come together intentionally even when we don't have any obvious similarities. Often, communities are built around shared interests, backgrounds, or experiences. Our community is built on practice, in the sense that we're each developing the skills to cultivate belonging with others - with no training wheels. One year ago, the Launch Community was an idea in my notes app. In just one year, we've hosted 10 Stranger Socials welcoming new members, 9 Connect + Expand Events diving deep into the nuts and bolts of community building, and 27 total events building friendships and the hard skills we need to cultivate community. 💡 How do we actually get better at listening? 💡 How do we lean on each other to deepen our connections? 💡 How do we create space for conflict so it doesn’t derail our bonds? At just one year old, we don't have all the answers, but we have met 108 people who are crawling towards them together! Follow our little experiment on Instagram: https://lnkd.in/gdiZ2MYQ

Thrilled to announce that I'm creating Voiced, an app aimed at boosting community engagement in New City, including Back of the Yards and Canaryville. Voiced ensures your voice 🗣️ reaches local leaders, turning feedback on community issues like potholes and public services into action. Here’s a sneak peek at Voiced’s key features: * Monthly Dashboard 📊: Get transparent updates on community issues, from progress on potholes 🕳️ to public service enhancements 🌳, demonstrating the power of collective voice. * Community Forum 💬: A space to post about local events, news, and concerns, encouraging vibrant discussions and shared solutions. * Map View with Pins 📍: Add and view pins on a map for real-time alerts on community happenings or to spotlight areas needing attention, viewable in both map and forum formats. To join the Voiced waitlist, I'm inviting my LinkedIn network to fill out a form. This isn't just for early access; it's a chance to shape both the app and our community. *How I found success by being part of a strong community. *You can't grow alone—community is the key to thriving in any industry. When I first started out, I knew that I would not be able to do this alone. But the real breakthrough happened when I connected with like-minded people who shared their experiences, insights, and support. Being part of a community doesn’t just give you access to new ideas—it gives you the confidence to take bigger steps. Whether it’s sharing wins, discussing challenges, or learning from others’ mistakes, the collective knowledge and encouragement from a supportive community can make all the difference. Here’s what I’ve learned: the more you give to your community, the more you get back. It’s not about what you can take, but how much value you can bring to others. Are you actively engaging with your community? How has it helped you grow?

𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀— which is important but. As the holidays roll around, let’s pause for a second and think: Are we investing the same energy into building offline communities? The kind of community where you: 🌟 Know your neighbor’s name. 🌟Bake something extra to share. 🌟Start a tradition that brings people together. 🌟Help a lost pet find its way home. It doesn’t take much. Sometimes, it’s just showing up. Here’s the thing: Real connection is a two-way street. When you take a moment to ask, “𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽?” or, “𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆?” you’re not just building a community for others—you’re building one for yourself too. Because at the heart of every strong community is a simple truth: We all want to feel like we belong. So this holiday season, as we shop, scroll, and plan for 2024, don’t forget the people around you—offline. Start small. Start today. What’s one thing you can do this week to strengthen your offline community? Let’s make kindness contagious—online and offline. #CommunityMatters #Connection #OfflineFirst #Thanksgiving #HolidaySeason Credits: Jordan Klancaster - https://pin.it/6VZOjLKZh

The Secret to Building a Thriving Online Community In today's digital landscape, community isn't just important—it's VITAL for your product or company's success. But here's the catch: to receive value, you must first CREATE value. So, how do you build a sustainable community that members love? 🤔 Ask yourself these crucial questions: 1. Who's in our community and why? 2. What problem are they trying to solve? 3. What value can we provide ? 4. How can members support each other? 5. How do we reward participation? 6. How can we make our community smarter, happier, or wealthier? Remember: Without value, your community won't last. Know your members, understand their motivations, and deliver what they need. #CommunityBuilding #OnlineCommunities

I analyzed 40 of the most memorable communities I've been a part of. Here's what I found: Every community was different, but some themes emerged. Most communities possessed: 1. Vision from Leaders (for the direction and purpose of the community as a whole) 2. Personal Clarity (empowered to do my individual role/function) 3. Action-oriented (we didn't talk about doing things, we did things) 4. Joy & Delight (everyone loved being a part of the community) I then realized that most communities possessed all but one of these attributed themes above. - Fun & Engaging communities (sports teams and some affinity groups like trivia teams). They often lacked a greater vision or purpose beyond fun. - Volunteer-based communities (serving at shelters, trash-pick ups, etc). They often could and would operate with or without me. - Meaningful communities (book clubs, some religious groups). They rely on intellect and connection, but lack actionable results. - Informative communities (academic groups & political groups). They are purposeful and important, but not always (or often) fun. But the most insightful thing I realized was that there were some communities that had all 4. Transformative communities are those which account for their natural weakness. I can think of groups in each of these categories that accounted for a lack of vision, clarity, action, or fun. The leaders of these groups knew that in order for their community to have a life-changing impact, they would need to do more. - The baseball team that invested in character development. - The volunteer team who constantly exemplified why individual contributions uniquely mattered. - The book club that turned into a political advocacy group. - The classes in college that applied non-traditional methods to increase participation and engagement. Without these 3 of these 4 themes, communities often never get off the ground. They fizzle and never find their footing. ― And now I'm really curious. What communities come to mind, for you, that possessed all 4 themes? And how did they account for their natural weakness?
