Another roller coaster🎢 week for #offshorewind in 🇳🇴 👏 to Ventyr for winning the Sørlige Nordsjø II auction for 1.5 GW of bottom fixed But 👎 on the news that the Utsira Nord floating offshore round is delayed until 2025 Yet, it doesn’t mean that floating offshore wind is off the table. There are dozens of offshore oil and gas platforms that require clean power to reduce Norway’s CO2 emissions which are way off track compared to Sweden 🇸🇪 the UK 🇬🇧 and Denmark 🇩🇰 👊👊👊 to Sosialistisk Venstreparti & Høyres Stortingsgruppe & Venstres Stortingsgruppe for promoting an alternative potential pathway for ‘wind for electrification’ - where floating offshore wind could provide a serious contribution to reducing offshore CO2 emissions. It also means we could go faster and get turbines in the water before 2030 and build a serious offshore wind supply chain in Norway.
