Happy National Careers Week! 🌟
Reflecting back to when I was just 18, searching for a part-time job to make ends meet, I never imagined I'd still be with the same company 13 years down the line!
My journey with Mitchells and Butlers kicked off at a local Ember Inns, where I vividly recall clumsily pouring my first pint of Stella – more foam than beer! Who would've guessed that years later, I'd be the one coaching teams on the art of the perfect pour? 😄🍺
As I settled into the groove after a month or two, I found myself falling in love with the hospitality industry. When my General Manager transitioned to Vintage Inns, I eagerly followed suit, commencing my progression from team member to Assistant Manager while simultaneously taking on the role of district trainer for my area.
Then came a pivotal moment when I stumbled upon a job opening for an Openings Team Trainer. I jumped at the opportunity, went through the
interview process, and felt incredibly fortunate to land the role!
Openings training became my passion – the thrill of guiding different teams week after week, immersing myself in lots of different brands. After a couple of years, I felt primed for the next phase of my journey and secured a secondment in a Training Partner role, spanning across two divisions. This then became permanent and allowed me to delve deeper into content creation and division-specific intricacies.
Fast forward to today, and I'm loving my role as a Recruitment Manager! While this role presents fresh challenges from my prior training roles, I relish the daily interactions with lots of different individuals and diving into PBOs.
I count myself incredibly lucky to have crossed paths with amazing colleagues and supportive managers along the way. Hospitality truly offers a myriad of career paths, and I'm grateful for the twists and turns of my journey!
