One of main use cases for crypto is stablecoins, the main friction is user experience. Many incumbent players like MoneyGram International are getting into it, however because of regulatory requirements they work with less efficient chains. Fees to the consumer are still much higher than they should be, 2% is way higher than buying on Coinbase and transferring to a self custody wallet. Moneygram and traditional remittance companies charge fairly large fees In fact even using Ethereum during lower traffic times can be cheaper. On Solana fees are far lower and can be as low as 2¢ If incumbents wants to compete they need to provide better user experience at lower cost. Most users are price sensitive and as soon as crypto native builders crack the user experience they will take majority of the market share.
