Limited area and complex traffic management are the two most unique issues of urban road construction. STEM Infrastructure excels at overcoming such challenges to provide efficient and distinctive road solutions. 🕦Time Management: STEM ensures we only work on roads at night, beginning at 11pm and finishing before the next morning. This technique reduces delays for the public, allowing for smooth everyday commutes and undisturbed commercial operations. 🚦Traffic Control: We use extensive traffic management approaches when carrying out our projects. Our team works with local authorities to develop and implement thorough traffic plans that have minimal impact on vehicle movement and pedestrian safety during construction. 🕳️Space Constraints: : Construction space in urban areas is often limited. Our team utilizes advanced planning and engineering approaches to make the best use of available space. We use phased construction plans, ensuring that projects proceed smoothly even in the most confined urban environments. 🔃Utility Relocation: Relocating existing utilities presents another big challenge because urban areas have dense networks. Our skilled engineers carefully prepare and work with utility providers to ensure a smooth relocation with barely any interruptions. 👥Community Engagement: Effective communication with local communities and stakeholders is necessary. To build strong relationships and community support, we prioritise transparency and regular updates, by addressing concerns and incorporating feedback. STEM Infrastructure is committed to tackling the challenges of urban road development via innovation, precision, and collaboration. Our expertise guarantees that urban infrastructure projects are implemented in an efficient, sustainable, and to the highest standards. #STEMInfrastructure #UrbanRoads #RoadDevelopment #UrbanPlanning #Construction #Innovation

The true power of planning lies in shedding light on what was once overlooked, giving everyone a voice, and creating space where everyone can come together to shape a shared future. In Carrick, DOMI, alongside the Carrick community and its various stakeholders, has embraced this mission through the Brownsville Road Corridor Safety Plan. Working closely with Mayor Gainey’s administration, the council office of Councilman Anthony Coghill, Senator Jay Costa, and Representative Jessica Benham, we have crafted a comprehensive, long-term vision to transform Brownsville Road—a key thoroughfare in Pittsburgh’s South Hill neighborhoods—into a safe, accessible, people-first roadway. A special thanks to our consulting team, Michael Baker International, for guiding this initiative in partnership with the city. This plan isn’t the end, but rather the beginning of Carrick’s revitalization journey With close to $6 million in federal and state grants secured, we’re well on our way to making Carrick’s community's vision for this corridor a reality. For those passionate about context-sensitive planning and people-centered roadway design, this project is a great example of transit-oriented, community-driven planning that supports economic renewal through infrastructure investment. As they say, “If you build it, they will come.” Here’s to building connections to transportation and economic development through advancing safety and accessibility for all. #Safesystem #Safety #Context_sensitive_Plan #Economic_vitality https://lnkd.in/gy83AwhG
