LNG exports from Malaysia in November is expected to reach an all-time high based on forecasts from our recently published seasonal outlook. This jump in exports is driven by  the successful commissioning of three new gas fields (Timi, Jerun and Kasawari) over the last twelve months by state-owned operator Petronas which now supplies feedgas to the facility. ⚡ On 10 May, a power cut stopped all liquefying operations at the Bintulu, Malaysia LNG Complex, one of the world’s largest LNG (liquefied natural gas) production centers. The plant had previously been running at maximum utilization rates. Bintulu LNG Complex accounts for 8% of global LNG production. Each day of shutdown at Bintulu means a loss of 80,000 tonnes of LNG – more than enough to move the market! MLNG has since resumed normal operations at the complex.
