Meet our founder Vinod Hegde, Ph.D. Vinod got his PhD with the main focus on #information #retrieval and information generation for enriching geospatial #databases, post which he embarked on consulting for companies like Nokia Intel Labs, DePuy Synthes, Hannover Re, Insight Centre for Data Analytics, and a few #startups in #automobile and #financialservices verticals. 🚨 Closure of the ALEN Cargo Project: An End That Paves the Way for New Horizons 🚨 After five years of innovation and commitment to transforming air cargo operations, the ALEN Cargo Project, designed to optimize, automate, and predict aircraft loading, has come to an end. Despite having technology more advanced than the solutions currently available on the market, constraints related to the limited size of the market and lack of funding led to this strategic decision. This reflects the reality of a niche sector, where the adoption of new technologies often encounters structural and economic barriers. This marks the end of a chapter, but certainly not the end of ALEN Linehaul Engineering. Staying true to our innovative DNA, we are embarking on a visionary new project to address an emerging need and a growing market: - Developing autonomous decision-making systems capable of evolving and acting independently in critical environments, managing conflicting objectives in contexts where human intervention is limited or impossible. This pivot builds on our expertise in artificial intelligence and logistics optimization, now directed toward even bolder solutions. The increasing deployment of mobile robots and collaborative robots is changing the manufacturing landscape with emerging technologies in Industry 4.0. The deployment of human-robot teams (HRTs) promises to realise the potential of each team member regarding their distinct abilities and combines efficiency and flexibility in manufacturing operations. However, enabling effective coordination amongst collaborative tasks performed by humans and robots while ensuring safety and satisfying specific constraints is challenging. New research from InterAct ECR fellowship recipient Dr. Daqiang Guo of the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge investigates the application, and implications, of human-robot collaboration in aerospace manufacturing.
