How would you define an orphan? A lot of times, we assume that "orphan" means that a child has no living parent or relative when, in reality, 80% of "orphans" have a living parent and, if given the proper support, could have stayed with their families. Learn more about how we are helping support families so every child can grow up in one. Learn more about our work: https://lnkd.in/ebq2ZCui

One of the reasons why we do what we do at Sirat - The Cleft Warriors Ensemble This indeed made our day! To know more about us, check out the link below: https://lnkd.in/dkejemAh
A simple and beautiful example as to why communities are important 👇🏻 A new parent in our Sirat - The Cleft Warriors Ensemble community recently shared that their unborn baby will have a cleft lip and palate. With support and determination, they’ve chosen to embrace the journey ahead. I was glad to see this message in the morning, it's an affirmation of the message we're trying to convey about Sirat and what people can expect. Sirat exists to ensure that families facing cleft know they're not alone. We connect parents with a supportive network, expert advice, and resources to navigate this path together. Help us reach more families—contribute here or share this post to spread the word. Contribute to the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/gXgWXwB8

Stability: the strength to stand or endure: firmly fixed. Many studies show that family care is the best place for a child to be due to the stability it brings. The reality is many children go their entire childhood without family care. CFS is bridging that gap and helping many children find families. Give today at the link below to help support us in the mission! https://lnkd.in/gg6GnVJc

thanks for sharing Dre Dantzler. books are very important to open your mind, be independent and be a trailblazer.
Just 30 minutes of reading time per week would change the life of a child in your community. Volunteer with Midlands Reading Consortium, and we'll connect you with a young reader in your area. uway.org/mrc

At Show Hope, we believe that the best way to serve children who are vulnerable is by working proactively to ensure the best possible outcome following the P.R.A.Y. acronym. P ➡️ Preservation R ➡️ Reunification A ➡️ Adoption Y ➡️ Youth Support This week on the blog, we unpack this acronym and share why it is the ideal response to caring for children who are vulnerable. 💫Happy International Missing Children's Day!💫 On May 25th, we mark International Missing Children’s Day, a significant observance that reminds us of the critical mission to locate and reunite missing children worldwide. About MAY25 What is International Missing Children’s Day? 1. International Missing Children’s Day, observed globally on May 25th each year, is dedicated to drawing attention to the thousands of children who go missing around the world annually. 2. The day aims to highlight the efforts made to find and reunite these children with their families, promote measures to protect children from abduction and exploitation and honor those who have been recovered. 3. It serves as a unified effort to raise awareness, share knowledge, and advocate for the safety and well-being of all children. 4. The observance of International Missing Children’s Day began in 1983, marking the anniversary of the disappearance of six-year-old Etan Patz, who went missing on his way to school in New York City in 1979. This day was initially recognized in the United States and has since gained international acknowledgment. 5. It symbolizes the global commitment to addressing the issue of missing children and serves as a reminder that the search continues for countless missing children worldwide. #MissingChildrenGhana #InternationalMissingChildren'sDay

It is estimated that there are 140 million orphans worldwide. But did you know that only 15.1 million are “true orphans,” meaning there are no living birth parents known? While this number is staggering, when viewed from an alternative vantage point, it means that 80 percent of children worldwide have at least one living birth parent. This number doesn’t take into account grandparents or other extended family members willing to care for the child. Hope for Life is working towards a continuum of care for homeless and street-involved children and youth that prioritizes family reunification when possible, safe, and sustainable.
