Our co-founders, Gagandeep Reehal and Gursimran Kalra were at TiE Global Summit Bangalore last week. A lot of interesting conversations happened with industry leaders, fellow founders, family offices and other stakeholders around Minus Zero’s vision, and how our work in building foundational models for autonomous driving is fueling next-gen ADAS/autopilot capabilities for India. #ai #minuszero #technology #autonomousvehicles #adas #startup #india #summit

From sitting in the garage fixing our first prototype to being part of #ForbesU30Asia, it has been an exciting journey. Bold Vision + 2 Young Entrepreneurs + Unwavering Commitment -> Humanity-scale Impact Gagandeep and I started Minus Zero 3 years back as two undergrads with a bold vision to create humanity-scale impact with Autonomous Driving & our unique approach of using Foundational AI to solve that. We have come a long way since then from demonstrating India’s first autonomous vehicle to recently announcing partnership with Ashok Leyland and International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH). But it’s still a beginning of decades-long journey ahead. While we two are just the faces of it, this goes to every team member and supporter of Minus Zero. Our CEO Igal Raichelgauz featured in Forbes: Exploring the Obstacles to Autonomous Driving! 🚗🧠 Over the past decade, startups have raised billions for self-driving cars, but many have failed or remained limited. The focus was often on specific use cases with expensive technology, or a limitation to just ADAS. Despite past failures, Tesla's progress has inspired a new generation of AD technologies, which we call AD2.0. For example, at Autobrains, we facilitate our unique #AI approach to scale from ADAS to full AD. The industry now faces the critical question: What will enable AD2.0 to succeed where AD1.0 failed? The answer lies in three transformative areas: #Technology, #Trust, and #Tesla! 💡 Dive deeper into the topic and read Igal's full article: https://lnkd.in/e-AASJuF 👈🏻 #AutonomousDriving #AD20 #ADAS #Innovation #TechTrends #Autobrains #Forbes #WeDriveAI

As someone whose career started out hiring in the Autonomous Vehicle space ~8 years ago when it was still gaining speed, I am super happy to read that funding is making a comeback. "It is hard to pinpoint one reason why, although there seems to be excitement over driverless trucks — perhaps as the industry has seen a driver shortage... ...The other driving force could be (you guessed it!) AI. Many startups like Wayve and Korea-based 42dot have pushed the AI angles of their companies hard, calling themselves mobility AI companies or something similar. In Wayve’s case, its technology works through embodied AI, where the vehicle is powered by artificial intelligence software and interacts with and continuously learns about the world. That differs from earlier attempts which relied more on lidar, radar and 3D." Very interesting that every company these days is trying to angle the AI advantage, but the transition from lidar to embodied AI feels more appropriate than some other companies who really aren't utilizing true AI in anything. https://lnkd.in/dmXMKvNz

Did you know driverless cars were being developed in 1971? That's 53 years ago! That's before most (all?) autonomous vehicle engineers were even born! To me, shows how long concepts and great ideas can take to get to market. Especially when the technology is just not ready yet. Maybe your startup is ahead of your time and needs to work through the new technologies and time it takes to get to market (although 53 years might be too long for many startups). AI will play a huge role in advancing concepts to market. https://lnkd.in/gar9P-Cg Credit to Daksh Chaudhary for SupercarBlondie
