Last Thursday, our team had the privilege of joining Northcott Neighborhood House to wrap gifts in support of their incredible mission to give back to the community this holiday season. We are thankful for partners like Northcott Neighborhood House who continue to uplift our community in so many incredible ways and we are humbled to be able to help spread the joy to local families 🎁❄️

Based on reports from the Washington State Housing Finance Commission in 2023 Imagine Housing has 183 subsidized units which reimburses at 3x the affordable housing rent. 110 tenants not living in subsidized units pay less than 30% of their income for rent. these rents range from 5% to 29% of their gross income for housing. This occurs because Imagine Housing does not use affordable housing allowed practices of AMI reclassification and the Over Income Clause 62 tenant households pay what is considered not rent burdened and pay 30% to 39% of their gross income for rent. 183 Imagine households are rent burdened from 40% to 100% of their gross income. Imagine allows tenants to sign a lease when their income is 1.5 X the affordable Housing rent amount. Please consider giving to Imagine having a in house subsidy program for these 183 families. This important in-house subsidy program need will increase when Samma in Bothell is completed, and leasing begins. BUMP

"...revolution begins with the self and in the self.” -Toni Cade Bambara This quarter, I encourage us to explore community, service, and the act of giving back. 1. What and who make up your community? 2. What is your role in that community? 3. What roles do you take outside of your community? 4. Are there any expectations or responsibilities that come with your role in and out of your community? 5. What are ways you can give back to your community? Can your role in the community leverage the ability to give back? I challenge us to explore these questions and create an action item to GIVE BACK. Let's continue to challenge for a better path for ourselves AND acknowledge where we're able to pave paths in kind. #thoughtfulthursday #community #service

Community is more than a place. It's about the lives we touch and the impact we make. Chairing the Punggol West Community Centre Management Committee... I have seen the power of community engagement. It creates a space where people feel supported, connected, and empowered. The impact? We nurture a sense of belonging and mutual support. From youth programs to initiatives for the elderly, our efforts are designed to make sure no one feels left out or behind. Why this matters... In a world that's increasingly digital. The human connection matters more than ever. Our work in the community is a reminder of the tangible difference we can make in each other's lives. Here's what I've learned... Every contribution, no matter how small, has the potential to spark change. Whether it's volunteering a few hours, participating in a clean-up, or simply lending an ear to someone in need, it all adds up. And the best part? The joy of seeing our community... Come together. Overcome challenges. Celebrate achievements. Witnessing this strength in action is truly rewarding. So, here's my invitation to you: Get involved. Make an impact. Your community needs you. And trust me, the fulfillment you'll find in service is unparalleled. Together, let's make a difference. Not just for today, but for generations to come. #WeMakeImpact
