The easiest way to handle something like this is checking your test data, something in your test data is causing your automation code to misbehave. Especially if you are passing variables to locate different elements on a page.

Real Talk: My Airtable automation just had a moment... and not the good kind! 🫠 You know that feeling when you’ve tested your automation thoroughly, double-checked every step, and it still doesn’t work as planned? Yup, that was me last week. But that's OK. If this is you, here's what you can need to know: 🌱 No-code doesn’t mean no surprises. Even after testing, things can break—unexpected edge cases, missed conditions, or simply “tools being tools.” Every hiccup makes you better at spotting patterns and thinking ahead. 🎯 Failures = better processes. When something goes wrong, it’s an opportunity to refine your workflows. Maybe it’s adding clearer error conditions, tweaking the data inputs, or setting up extra validation steps. ✨ Always have a Plan B. Even the best automations need backups. Manual overrides or alternative steps can save the day while you troubleshoot. 💡 Pro tip: Document what went wrong and how you fixed it. Future you will thank you! To my fellow no-code enthusiasts: Have you had automations that failed despite thorough testing? What did you learn from it? Let’s normalize the learning curve! 👇 #NoCode #Automation #Airtable #OpsAndEnds #ProductivityHacks #DigitalTransformation

There doesn't have to be a complex system managing dependencies. A few simple conversations can usually be a powerful starting point and move the needle . If you don't know what's changed - how can you understand the impact? If you can't understand the impact how can you prioritise your testing and quality strategy? You need visibility to know: - What was added? - What was removed? - What user scenarios might be affected? Without this clarity, you’re left guessing. Guessing leads to misaligned testing, wasted effort, and increased risk. So, before diving into automation or complex test strategies, Start with conversations. Get visibility. Understand change. Then build your quality strategy on a solid foundation. #Quality #QualityEngineering #OuterLoop #Impact #Traceability

When you're learning a new platform or building a fresh workflow, rough drafts are your very best friend. Accept imperfection through iteration to make the most of your time. For me, this means keeping things as brief as possible during the mapping process - while leaving enough context to remind me what this step was for. This automation I'm building has 8 steps to it. I can't get too focused on building a concise, on-brand message before I'm sure I can make the vision flow with the limitations of this free tool. That said, this message still would get the point across...wouldn't it? 🤷♀️

Automate? Yes. Everything? No. Focus in delivering value and ROI.
🚨"We can automate everything" - OF COURSE NOT! Let’s cut through the fluff. The idea that every single test can be automated is pure fantasy. Here's the reality 🙂Full automation! Sounds great on paper but it is impractical, costly, and often unfeasible. Some test scenarios are just too complex to automate. ❌ Why does this matter? Chasing "100% automation" wastes the valuable team resources. Instead, let’s focus on creating a balanced, strategic approach to testing. Want more insights? Tune in to our upcoming webinar for the full deep dive and start revolutionizing your testing strategy. 🚀 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eBrktAsV #FromManualtoAutomation #TestAutomation #BalancedApproach Let’s get real about automation! 💡 Derek E. You know why I love automation? Because I’m lazy. Yep, I said it! I'm a little ashamed, but hey, it’s the truth. Here’s the deal: my laziness works for me. I don’t want to be staring at the screen for hours on end. I’d rather be doing other things! So, here’s what I focus on: Automate Like You’re Lazy (Because You Are) ↳ Your clients will think you have a whole team of mini-yous. Organize So You Can Find Your Stuff ↳ No more hunting down client info like it’s a treasure hunt. Batch Like a Boss ↳ Less hopping around means getting more done in less time. Here’s to freeing up your day! Come to think of it, I need catch up on some coffee dates. P.S. Tell me I’m not the only one who loves being lazy?! lol _
