This morning I answered a question on "How to bring resistant stakeholders on your side in difficult circumstances". Whoa, now that's a loong line of corporate jargon here :)) But look, the essential structure is PRETTY EASY! Just loosen up a bit, we got this! --------------------------------------------------------- Now, if you were a Diplomat, how'd you do it? Ambassador, please think of navigating stakeholder resistance to proposed changes like any skilled diplomat like yourself negotiates peace: SEEK TO DEEPLY UNDERSTAND - their perspective, which is shaped by their environment, professional experience, personal background, preferences, concerns, and current events and conditions. FIND COMMON GROUND - Identify shared goals and values that can lead to mutual agreements. BE CLEAR AND CONCISE - Communicate effectively, elaborating where needed to ensure understanding. HIGHLIGHT PROGRESS - Reinforce any small agreements or progress to build momentum. USE DATA AND FACTS - Back up your points with solid evidence to build credibility. BE ADAPTABLE - Adjust your communication style based on feedback and be flexible in your approach. ALLIES - Seek to make your stakeholders allies. It starts with your attitude :) WINNING - THE BEST WIN IS WHEN THEY ARE REALLY HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME (Because it's one of the best outcomes in that situation, not just short term, but LONG TERM as well). YOU DO YOUR JOB SO GOOD THAT THEY WANT YOU ON THEIR SIDE OF THE TABLE IN THE FUTURE! --------------------------------------------------------- Hm, did I just show you how to negotiate(and sell) exactly like a TOP GUN PRO? Ha ha ha... I DID! And I will show you more. Good Luck and Prosperity to you! #negotiation #leadership #communication #selling #stakeholders

Most people get stuck in never-ending negotiations because they can't take control of the relationship dynamics for the greater good. As they look at the dynamics through the same mindset, they come up with the same conclusion no matter what new information comes up. Dealmaking is about regaining frame control, shifting the interaction dynamics in your favor, and turning the tables. And unless you understand the people you are dealing with, and their driving forces underneath, you won't be able to seal a deal effectively no matter how senior you are in your field of expertise. It all comes down to how you get inside the heads of those you deal with, and uncover what's beneath the surface. French Diplomats, L.L.C. helps investors handle their stakeholders' blurred agendas: we leverage the gap between stated positions and real agendas, so they can outfox the competition and hasten deal closure. For the greater good.

Understanding the Win/Lose Strategy in Negotiation The win/lose strategy in negotiation is where one party gains at the expense of the other. While it can secure immediate wins, this approach often risks damaging relationships and limiting future collaboration. It might be effective in highly competitive scenarios or when the relationship is less critical, but it's essential to weigh these short-term gains against potential long-term consequences. At ENS, we believe that understanding when to apply different strategies is key to achieving both immediate success and sustainable outcomes. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/exVV-TY8

It's one thing to lay groundwork for a potential deal privately. The Harvard Program on Negotiation writes, "The primary benefit of back-channel negotiations is that they remove talks from the scrutiny of an audience, including constituents, the press, and even members of one’s own negotiating team. When negotiators feel pressured by observers to take a hard-line position, they may fall back on counterproductive aggressive tactics and avoid exploring possible concessions and tradeoffs. Negotiating through a back channel enables would-be dealmakers to test the waters." This is different than a two-track negotiation, which can cause trouble. If you have two different negotiating teams working on the same deal, miscommunications, mistakes, and counterproductive moves are likely. Open a back channel whenever you want, but avoid two-track negotiations whenever you can. They're two different tactics. #negotiation #negotiationskills #negotiationtips #negotiationstrategy #business #businessdeals #businesstips #businessstrategy #disputeresolution
