Last month, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, welcomed a delegation from Foshan Commerce Bureau, People’s Republic of China, and representatives from Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), to commemorate the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two entities. This agreement sets the stage for enhanced cooperation in sectors such as building materials, furniture, steel, and new energy vehicle industries, among others. As part of the agreement, RAKEZ and Foshan Commerce Bureau will conduct joint activities such as business events, delegation exchanges, and facilitate trade and investment cooperation to boost bilateral relations. The collaboration is part of our commitment to fostering robust international business relationships, aligning with our broader strategy to strengthen the 40-years-strong economic bridge between the two countries. It is one of many partnerships RAKEZ has signed with Chinese entities in recent years, as China continues to be the UAE’s top global trade partner, with with bilateral trade between the two nations reaching around US$95 billion by 2023. 🚚✈️ #Uzbekistan is strategically located at the crossroads of major trade routes connecting Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Its geographical position makes it a natural gateway for trade between these regions, facilitating the transportation of goods across various modes of transport. During my business trip to Uzbekistan, I had the pleasure of meeting with Otabek Buribekov, Tashkent Branch Manager, and his team. Together, we emphasized the importance of Uzbekistan for AsstrA's business and its significance in the field of international logistics. It was a valuable opportunity to meet our partners in person, as face-to-face interaction can never fully replace online formats. During our meetings, we discussed the outcomes of our collaborations, analyzed complex cases and situations, and identified directions for the region's development. In addition, Artur Danilov and I visited our customers and discussed how we can improve their businesses in the region and optimize transit cargo flows in this direction. Seven countries unite to boost efficiency of the middle corridor #Azerbaijan has spearheaded the establishment of the international association “#Eurasian #Transport #Route," which has been joined by #Kyrgyzstan, #Uzbekistan, #Tajikistan, #Turkey, #Austria, and #China. The association aims to enhance the coordination of international transportation across the Central Asian region. Additionally, it aligns with the development strategy of the “Belt and Road” initiative, which is a key interest for China. During a consultative meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan, the heads of the #railway administrations from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, China, and Austria signed a protocol officially creating the International Association “Eurasian Transport Route.” ○Enhancing the Middle Corridor The #TransCaspian International Transport Route (TITR), commonly referred to as the Middle Corridor, stretches from China through Kazakhstan, across the Caspian Sea, to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and eventually into Europe. To boost the competitiveness of this vital route, it was necessary to establish a central coordinating body. ○The Significance of the Middle Corridor The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route is a critical link between #Asia and #Europe. A key part of this corridor is the #Baku-#Tbilisi-#Kars railway, which connects Azerbaijan, #Georgia, and #Turkey. With the formation of the International Association “Eurasian Transport Route,” the coordination and development of the corridor will be overseen by a dedicated coalition. This initiative is designed to ensure the route’s stability and competitiveness in the global market. ○China’s Role and Interest China has a vested interest in increasing cargo traffic through the Eurasian region, which is why it became a member of the Eurasian Transport Route Association. https://lnkd.in/d_WcKUSz
