Recently the team met to review 2024 and how well we progressed toward our goals. Some highlights include: - 100 new We Help Ourselves (WHO) subscribers which amounts to 150,000 students served - 45 mothers served through Mothers and Babies with 4 facilitators - The return of our Peer Support Groups each week - The successful launch of Young Professionals - 11 COMI speakers over the course of the year - And so much more! We couldn't do any of this without the support of friends like you. Please consider a gift to help us carry the momentum into 2025 at https://lnkd.in/g8b25Sv8.

In this video: I was approved for full Food Stamps ($290 Idaho) and full Medicaid due to my $3.35/hr job and expenses. I share the words of the woman who processed my benefits application by telephone when I told her about my pursuit. Yes...I told her about what led me to this point and what I'm doing now. Interested in hearing how she responded? I then spent the day reaching out to all of the local FB Page group administrators to make sure it was ok if I posted an ad for life and career coaching services for youth and young adults on their page. It's always best to start out on a good foot with page administrators! And...I searched for more foundations for grants for positive social, economic, and environmental change...and women owned businesses (cuz that's me!). Last...I invite you to consider being a participant in the official, extended, professionally made series which will be pursued when the GoFundMe goal for this project is reached. I am looking for 6 young people (18-25) from economically disadvantaged and/or underrepresented background (female, LGBTQ, Black, Hispanic, Native American, etc.) who are willing to vulnerably share their emotions, challenges, and successes as they are guided to resources and community supports to reach their goals. You will have support from professionals in every aspect along the way. We will start with self-empowerment and career exploration. There will be honest feelings shared and coaching through difficult times so that the audience can benefit from your experience and be empowered by your growth. If you feel like you are up for the challenge, reach out. I would be happy to chat with you more about this opportunity. **The Mission of our Positive Change “How To” docuseries is fourfold: 1) Empower disadvantaged and underrepresented populations, 2) Increase new sustainable & repurpose NPO, Co-Op, and B-Corp businesses (founded by disadvantaged populations), 3) Increase awareness, access, and affordability of all-natural & repurposed sustainable products & practices, 4) Emphasize effective, homeopathic mental and physical preventative health/lifestyle practices. We are taking a holistic approach for both humans and nature to thrive. **Please check out our GoFundMe to make this into a high-quality, professional docuseries with a wider range of connections, opportunities, and awareness for Positive Change on a platform such as Netflix. https://lnkd.in/gKFirHmw Reflecting Inward Life Coaching Website https://lnkd.in/g984--mN IG: @reflecting_inward FB: https://lnkd.in/gjNPsBNe YT: https://lnkd.in/gm5xpUnz

Babies and young children have a right to express their views and have them taken into account. Many people in the UK find that statement quite challenging - even some children’s rights advocates. During party conferences, my feeds were full of photos of young people sitting around tables with adults, talking about their experiences. That is great, but there are over 13 million babies, children and young people in the UK and they ALL have the right to express their views and be heard. So we have to move beyond one-off events and consider how we shift mindsets to give more weight to children's perspectives across policy and public services. Babies’ and children’s perspectives include their experiences, beliefs, preferences, concerns and interests. We can tune into these perspectives to find out how they understand and feel about the world, and what they want from it. Understanding, valuing and acting on children’s perspectives has direct benefits for children. Children are more likely to thrive in a world where adults value and respond to their preferences and give them some agency in their lives. Noticing how babies and young children are experiencing and responding to the world can also give us clues about what is happening for them, and if they need extra help. Understanding and reflecting on babies’ and young children’s experiences, views and values helps us find ways to support them that are more likely to be engaging, enjoyable and effective. At PEDAL, we value children’s perspectives and the insights they give us. Our researchers have expertise in eliciting children’s perspectives using a mosaic of approaches such as talking to children, observing their behaviours, and eliciting views through drawing, storytelling and play. Our experience is in conducting research, but we felt that our expertise might be useful to support practitioners and organisations who wanted to do more to elicit and use babies’ and young children’s perspectives in their services. We were thrilled to work with Home-Start Richmond, Kingston & Hounslow to help them give more prominence to babies and young children’s perspectives in their work. A write-up of the first part of this project is now on our website. The work continues: the brilliant Home-Start team continue to develop and test new tools, such as diary sheets and supervision templates, to keep babies' and young children’s perspectives in mind. It’s been a pleasure to work with a group of wise, thoughtful and reflective women on this project, including the staff and volunteers in Home-Start (led by Cristiana Camisotti and Erin Laybourne), Beth Barker and Kelsey Graber, PhD from PEDAL, and clinical psychologist Dr Hannah Guzinska You can read the report on the first stage of the project here: https://lnkd.in/eH7HQhZr
