Its scary to think we're already half way through 2024! The festival season has only just begun, but we're already taking bookings for bonfire & fireworks season. Firework and bonfire events are inherently higher risk than your average summer community festival. Its usually darker, wetter, colder and with the addition of fire, flying explosives and a beverage or two to keep us warm, accidents are more likely to happen. Councils & safety advisory groups (SAG) are tightening their grip on events over 500 people and are enforcing guidance more strictly. Winter pressures and the general increase in demand for NHS services over bonfire weekend are likely to increase waiting times for 999 calls to be resourced. Don't get caught out this year and get in early. Last minute is inherently more expensive with less choice! Give us a call on 03300 100 280 or pop an email to sales@event-medical.co.uk and we can get your plan together for your 2024 event!

✨ Behind the Scenes ✨ Last Saturday was a rollercoaster of emotions. I was prepared for a busy and exciting day with two major events: the Seniors Games at the Rugby Union Club and our first cultural coffee event for Peru Day at the Coffee Commune. Andrea and our friend Jun were set to run the show at Norman Park. I was going to help them set up and then head over to the Coffee Commune. Everything was going smoothly until I tried to start the generator, and it wouldn’t start. Of all days, that was the day the generator failed us. Despite the club's efforts and Mika trying to help us on the phone, after plans A, B, and C didn’t work, we had to give up. I apologized to the club, Jun took the van back home, and Andrea and I had to clear our heads before heading to the Coffee Commune. The mood wasn't great. I felt sad, overwhelmed, and nervous about the event. I couldn’t understand why this had to happen on such a special day. With Andrea’s help, I shook it off, and we prepared for Peru Day, which turned out to be the complete opposite of my morning! We went from disaster to pure joy! Our event went incredibly well, and the overwhelming support we received was positively uplifting. I guess life gives us a bit of everything, and we just have to roll with it, maintain the right attitude, and keep moving forward. Getting ready for the Easter weekend? 🐣 Take some wise words from Ben Franklin - "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." . So how can churches best prepare for big events? 📔 Plan to Plan - Yup, you heard that right. Intentionally deciding when and how to plan makes a world of difference in the long run. . 👥 Delegation - Trying to run everything by yourself can quickly lead to burnout. As tempting as the "do it yourself" model is, a reliable team creates a smoother event, and can provide valuable feedback. . 🤗 Focus on Hospitality - Maybe the 20ft mural is what your guests will remember weeks from now, but most likely what they'll recall is how they felt. A warm greeting and welcoming environment can leave a lasting impression beyond the weekend. . Want more church planning tips and tricks? Check out this blog article 👀: https://hubs.li/Q02q9bYC0
