When it comes to lift maintenance, we often get asked: Whats the difference between a routine service from a safety check? Let's simplify it using something we're all familiar with: cars. Just like cars need routine servicing and occasional checks for safety, lifts need similar attention to keep them running smoothly and ensure passenger safety. So, what exactly does a safety check involve for lifts in Australia, and how does it differ from routine servicing? Think of a lift service like giving your car a tune-up – it's about keeping everything running smoothly. On the other hand, a safety check is like a thorough inspection to make sure everything meets strict safety standards. In Australia, lifts have to meet stringent safety regulations set out by organisations like WorkSafe. These rules require annual safety checks to ensure lifts are safe for passengers and operators. During a safety check, trained technicians carefully inspect different parts of the lift: 1. Structural Integrity: They check the lift shafts, carriages, and doors for any signs of wear or damage. 2. Electrical Systems: They look at the wiring, control panels, and emergency systems to make sure they're working properly and meet safety standards. 3. Mechanical Components: They examine the motor systems, brakes, and other mechanical parts to ensure they're in good condition. 4. Emergency Procedures: They test things like emergency stop buttons and evacuation procedures to make sure passengers can get out safely if something goes wrong. 5. Compliance with Standards: They make sure the lift meets all the necessary regulations and guidelines. Safety checks aren't just about ticking boxes – they're a proactive way to spot potential problems before they become serious. By doing regular safety checks, lift owners show they care about keeping passengers safe and meeting their legal obligations. In short, while routine servicing keeps lifts running smoothly, safety checks make sure they're safe for everyone to use. It's all about giving your lift the care and attention it needs, just like you would with your car. After all, safety should always come first! #melbourne #elevatormaintenance #liftmaintenance #upgrade #electrician #technician #luxuryhome

Supporting Local Industry – It’s what we do. At Robot Spares, we don’t just talk about supporting local industry. Recently, we had the opportunity to prevent a costly factory shutdown at a major Adelaide manufacturing plant by going above and beyond to deliver a critical robot part. Here’s how it all unfolded: * The plant was down, and a part was urgently needed. * After exploring multiple solutions, we (Robot Spares) and the Adelaide Service Manager agreed the fastest option was a rendezvous at Melbourne Airport. * A maintenance technician flew from South Australia to Melbourne while we prepared the part and braved two storm warnings (and the threat of hail!) to deliver it directly to the airport. *The technician landed, collected the part, and immediately flew back to Adelaide, ensuring the plant was operational again as quickly as possible.. This is the partnerships we build with our customers. We have a shared commitment to keeping local industry running smoothly.

Safety - What It Means to Us Our focus on passenger safety drives the design, manufacturing, and testing of every wheelchair lift and access product we make. Safety is fundamental to our passenger lifts. Each component, from the robust powered platforms to the reinforced handrails, is engineered for maximum strength, durability, and passenger protection. Prior to delivery, all lifts undergo extensive testing to meet and exceed applicable safety standards. We also offer innovative safety accessories to enhance passenger safety further: • DoorSafe Barrier: This high-visibility barrier automatically blocks the rear opening when doors are open to prevent accidents. All new PLS lift kits include the DoorSafe plug and lead components, ready for easy wiring during installation. For existing lifts, upgrading is simple - the DoorSafe can be rail mounted without rewiring or an engineer visit. • StopSafe Barrier: This lockable barrier creates an enclosed area at the platform edge for added security. • LED Warning Lights: Bright LEDs increase lift visibility and indicate when powered on. • Extendable Handrails: Longer handrails provide more stability and support by minimising gaps. Safety is also central to our PLS Assist aftersales support. With direct access to factory-trained technicians for diagnostics, video support, on-site service, quick parts shipping, training, and maintenance scheduling, PLS Assist ensures your operations run smoothly and safely. At PLS, passenger safety underlies everything we do. We continually develop safer solutions to give passengers and operators complete peace of mind. #SafetyFirst #WheelchairLifts #PassengerSafety #Innovation #Accessibility #PLSAssist #SafetyFeatures #EngineeringExcellence #SafetyStandards #PeaceOfMind #Minibus #Coach #CommunityTransport #AccessibleVehicle

*Safety Precaution Aircraft And Workshop* 📑 Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is crucial for safety and efficient aircraft maintenance. Clear pathways, visible safety signs, and effective communication are essential to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of all personnel. 📑 To ensure a smooth transition between shifts, outgoing personnel should properly store their belongings. Necessary tools and equipment can remain in the work area, but a clear handover process is essential. 📑 A thorough review of maintenance documentation is crucial before or during shift turnover. This ensures that all completed tasks are properly documented and that the incoming technician can continue the work accurately and safely. #safetyprecation #safety #workshop #aircraft #maintenance #procedures

Workers in the utility and telecommunications sectors confront a multitude of safety challenges in their daily tasks. From handling high-voltage equipment to braving extreme weather conditions and working at considerable heights, the risks are ever-present. These challenges are compounded for those working solo, as they must not only contend with the tasks at hand but also bear the responsibility of self-monitoring and maintaining vigilance. The National Safety Council points out that slip, trip, and fall hazards are common, particularly in outdoor environments where terrain can be treacherous, further underscores the need for heightened awareness. While safety training is typically provided, certain hazards, especially those associated with vehicular operations, may warrant greater attention. Recognizing and addressing these challenges is essential to ensuring the well-being of utility and telecommunications workers in the field. #safety #driversafety #roadsafety #fleet #fleetsafety #utility #drivedifferent #smithsystem https://lnkd.in/gbfh3uJg

Before our drivers start any trip to serve our clients, they must complete a Pre-Trip Inspection, or PTI to ensure that the truck meets the proper safety standards to complete their trip safely. During his PTI, our driver notices that the driver side rear axel outside drive tire is flat and off the rim, which means it needs to be repaired. The driver calls our Highlight Repair Shop Emergency Breakdown Line for assistance. Our Breakdown Team is available to all of our drivers 24/7, and can assist our driver’s across the GTA for any breakdown or repairs needed. Our Breakdown Team answers the call and collects information from the driver in order to properly assess the situation and assist our driver. The Breakdown Team confirms the location of the truck using our specialized Fleet Maintenance Programs and Software, which allows our team to assist any driver across North America. The Breakdown Team assigns a technician or technicians if more than one is needed, and they collect the work order from the Breakdown Team. The technician inputs the order information and once it has been sent, the technician goes to the Highlight Repair Shop Parts Department and submits the work order to get the required parts, which in this case, is a replacement tire. The technician loads the parts into the Highlight Mobile Repair Truck which is equipped with best-in-class professional grade industry tools. The Mobile Repair Truck then drives to the driver’s location and begins to make the necessary repairs. Safety is always our number one priority at Highlight, so to ensure that the truck is properly maintained after the repair, our technician fills out a Retorque Sticker to notify the driver that a retorque of the wheel needs to be done once 150km has been driven. When you see a Highlight Truck on the road, it means that it has met all of our safety protocols and procedures to ensure that everyone on the road and everything being transported is safe and ready for our clients. See you on the road! #repairshop #truckmechanic #highlight
