Excited to see Region 2 gaining the capacity of GMP clean room. As Spencer Marsh mentions in this post, the clean room will be immediately put to use by companies already here and certainly be a vital asset in attracting new companies to the region.
GO Virginia Region 2 project GMP CLEAN will address the need for cleanroom space by surveying region and statewide needs. The project will implement a pilot cleanroom space at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC (FBRI) and will see use from three local startup companies to manufacture biomedicines: The Tiny Cargo Company, Qentoros, and Acomhal Research, Inc.. Learn more from Spencer Marsh, senior research scientist for FBRI!

Thanks for the reminder, I still have to finish my slides - CIRMS is a unique experience for individuals involved with #medicaldevices and irradiation, with plenaries on new techniques and technologies for radiation processing, advances in isotope and machine based radiation with an optional tour of NIST facilities following the conference. I'll be presenting a comparison of physical vs virtual dose mapping including some variables and product configurations that could be more accurately dose mapped using either technology.
Join us at the 31st Annual CIRMS Meeting for a deep dive into cutting-edge radiation measurements and standards. Our very own Nick Brydon will lead a discussion about the "Advantages and limitations of physical and virtual dose mapping of medical devices" on April 30th, 2:30 PM. We're excited to be a part of this opportunity to engage with industry, academia, and government stakeholders in a conversation shaping the future of disruptive technologies in radiation! https://lnkd.in/eJBfxFke #CIRMS2024 #RadiationMeasurements #MedicalDeviceInnovation #DoseMapping

This is such an important need in maternity wards! Ask any woman that’s given birth by Caesarean Section -or any woman that’s used this bassinet after having her baby. If men gave birth, esp with C-Sections, this bassinet would be in many more hospitals across the US. Imagine what it’s like to lean over from your hospital bed, with massively sore abdominal muscles, to pick up a 6-10 pound newborn so he/she can nurse on your chest? Engineers, you can calculate how that angle of lifting makes the effective baby’s weight even higher. The pivot ability in the Couplet Care bassinets is unique and is needed now. Couplet Care is making it happen. #coupletcare

What a delight when biomedical engineers appreciate the Couplet Care Bassinet design! Thanks to Steven Eury of Stanley Community College and to George Reed & Dallas T. Sutton, Jr., BS, CRES, LSSGB of WakeMed for inviting us to the North Carolina Biomedical Association (NCBA) Symposium.
