Day to day service issues, renewal and open enrollment support, assisting with compliance issues. When did you know that you’re making a difference in your work? When serving on the BAT team as a customer service rep, employees would share with me how much my assistance impacted their personal life, I realized that I was doing much more than my “job”, I was impacting people’s real lives. This pushes me go above and beyond for my clients and their employees every day. What can you not live without? My family and animals What piece of advice have you received in your career that made a big impact? Strive for progress, not perfection. If you clients could only do one thing that would impact the health/lives of their employees the most, what would you recommend? Check in on their employees and show them you care, whether that is some 1:1 time, remembering a birthday or asking how their family is doing. If you could be anywhere in the world… where would you be and why? African Safari. I’ve always loved animals and traveling. My dream would be to go on an African Safari and see all the animals up close and personal. Here’s a screenshot of my missed calls. Look familiar? I don’t answer calls during the day because I’m working. I call the front desk back after hours and they’re unavailable. I leave voicemail explaining the merits of online self-scheduling because that’s what I do for a living. They acknowledge it’s a good idea, but it’s out of their hands. If you’re at a provider or a plan, be more demanding. Who makes these decisions? Find them. Imagine not having to make a phone call ever again in the healthcare system, not for scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, making referrals, or collecting payments. Imagine the conversation with a patient or member actually being about their care. Isn’t that a better use of time? That’s what we’re working on. And yes of course, we are hiring.
