Digital X: what is the "Impact"? Deutsche Telekom have hosted their amazing event in Cologne at this year's #DigitalX and two days of inspiration are complete. The theme was "Ready for Impact". Here are 3 of my main takeaways: 1. Germany needs to get new momentum Tim Höttges made a very clear point here. We can not stop just because we are doing alright. If we become complacent, it will cost us. So it is about embracing change. 2. Digitalization is for customers Create a 5-year roadmap, do it in ten and call it digitalization? No. The core of meaningful digitalization is customer value - customer obsession even. so we should remove overhead wherever we can and deliver value instead. Great to hear Srini Gopalan, Klaus Werner and Dr. Ferri Abolhassan on how Telekom makes it happen. 3. Chances are fine, but results matter We love to talk about chances, especially in Germany. But in the end we need to deliver. And with accelerating AI-driven innocavation, we need to be fast. Great to see how Claudia Nemat embraces the importance of our ability to execute - which is also a core value at greybee GmbH. So what is the impact? For me, it is about changing the way we think and act about change and transformation. - Remove endless, old-world project overhead - Automate redundancy - Enable a seamless flow from ideas to successful business transformation This is going to be my mission working on ZEEMLESS until we meet again. At Deutsche Telekom, we are running 500 AI-driven projects to improve everything from customer service to network maintenance. The potential for growth through AI is massive, and we encourage other companies to explore it with us. 5. Reindustrialization and Energy: Europe has the opportunity to reindustrialize through innovation in chips, AI, and robotics. But this transformation requires competitive energy prices and a willingness to invest in the future. 🌍 What’s Next? Tim’s message was clear: be the change you want to see. Time to look back! Some of my favorite moments in 2024. 📹 From Barcelona to Bonn, to Bellevue and around the world: Our technology has made a difference to millions of customers, to people. And our people are at the heart of that success: Thank you for your dedication. For the effort you put into our products and platforms. And for staying curious. Your work has made this year truly special! 🙏 This work is characterized by one thing: Collaboration. 🤝 At Deutsche Telekom, we believe in it deeply. Within our company and beyond, with partners. So I asked Peter Leukert and Abdu Mudesir to join me in reviewing our year. 😉 We looked at just a few highlights, that showed: Without collaboration, there would be no innovation. 2024 revealed another thing. There's never been a more exciting time to be in technology! Just look at the advances in AI or quantum technology. But it is up to us to seize these opportunities to create tangible benefits. While this year has shown our ability to scale projects globally, we need to understand: Innovation at scale requires working together across functions, regions, and continents. Valuing diversity: Combining local entrepreneurship with global scale. At the heart of it, our purpose: To create #HumanCenteredTechnology for customer love. It's what drives us to create solutions that really matter. From the best #5G networks, to network slicing, to O-RAN, towards increasingly autonomous networks. From best TV experience, to Magenta Moments, to #MagentaAI. From Security On Net towards further advancing our IT. So let's enter 2025 with the same spirit that has made us successful: Dare to think, to care and to act.
