In 2022, the international standard for managing information security, ISO 27001, was updated, and the new version, ISO 27001:2022, was published. Organisations that are currently certified under ISO 27001:2013 need to upgrade to the latest 2022 standard by October 2025 to stay compliant. However, following this update, a 2023 version of the standard emerged. This brings up the question: what exactly is ISO 27001:2023, and do organisations need to switch to this version?
