Aranelli Project - Rancho Santa Fe Wood veneers have evolved significantly in design, particularly in modern design, where their versatility, aesthetic appeal, and sustainability have made them increasingly popular. Here’s an overview of the evolution of wood veneers and their role in modern design: Wood veneers date back to ancient Egypt, where they were used to create intricate furniture and decorative items. The use of thin layers of wood allowed for the conservation of precious wood species. 18th and 19th Centuries: During these centuries, veneers became more refined, and techniques improved. Veneers were often used in high-end furniture and cabinetry, showcasing the beauty of exotic woods without the cost of solid wood. Technological Improvements: Advancements in slicing and cutting techniques have allowed for more precise and thinner veneers. This has led to greater consistency and less waste. Sustainable Practices: Modern manufacturing places a strong emphasis on sustainability. Veneers maximize the use of valuable wood resources and reduce the need for solid wood, which helps in forest conservation. Engineered Veneers: Modern technology has led to the development of engineered veneers, which are made from rapidly renewable wood species. These veneers replicate the appearance of more exotic woods while being more sustainable. In summary, wood veneers have evolved from a practical solution to a sophisticated design element in modern interiors. Their ability to combine aesthetics with functionality and sustainability makes them a cornerstone of contemporary design. #ModernCabinetry #ItalianCraftsmanship #LuxuryDesign #HomeRenovation #InteriorStyle #KitchenDesign #CustomInteriors #DesignInspo #InteriorTrends #ModernHome #SleekDesign #HomeLuxury #DesignInnovation #CabinetryIdeas #ItalianLuxury #FineInteriors #ContemporaryHomes #GlossFinish #WoodElements #DesignPerfection #aranelli

Will FEVE coating become a trend in the architectural market, potentially replacing natural materials like wood, stone, and metal? I recently came across a fascinating example that suggests it might. The Shanghai Maxdo Centre, completed in 1999, still looks remarkably new in mid-2023, thanks to its use of FEVE coated aluminum with a granite look print. Aluminum is renowned for its sustainability, recyclability, lightweight nature, workability, and durability compared to many other materials. Imagine the weight savings alone on a project the size of the Maxdo Centre, where using natural granite stone could have been significantly heavier. The appeal of FEVE coated panels is growing in interior décor due to their versatile range of finishes, including customizable designs. Their ability to span up to 3 meters without joints, especially in finishes like Blackened Metal, Corten, Burned Metal, Verdigris, and Dirty Copper, makes them particularly attractive. As someone deeply passionate about interior design, discovering the potential of FEVE coated aluminum has been truly exciting. It not only enhances aesthetics but also offers practical advantages that can redefine how we approach architectural design. Photos courtesy of DNP Singapore Pte. Ltd. Pitch Black: Setting the Stage No, the ceiling won't stay black forever! Here you witness a pivotal step in our design process. When incorporating reclaimed wood onto a wall or ceiling, we begin by painting it black. Why? This essential step ensures that the wood's natural imperfections—like cracks and holes that give it character—blend seamlessly into the design. Contrast is key; by starting with black, we create cohesion without distractions, unlike the stark contrast that white would create against a wood's natural variations. In home design, every detail matters. Our aim is not just to meet expectations but to surpass them, to stop you in your tracks. We seek to captivate your heart and soul, unveiling new concepts and emotions. Our designs don't just look aesthetically pleasing; they enhance your life, bringing beauty and functionality together in perfect harmony. Stay tuned for the transformation as wood details come to life, achieving all these goals and more! #ReclaimedWoodDesign #DesignDetails #FunctionalBeauty #CaptivatingSpaces Design @ninashomedesign GC @bernardinibuilders . . #ninashomedesign #instascrollstoppingdesign #architexture4life #trendsettingismyjam #westchesterny #greenwichct #connecticutliving #newyorkfamily #natureinspireddesign #natureinspiredhome #multigenerationalhome #residentialinteriordesign #inspotoyourhome #renovationspecialists #newbuildhomes #elledecor #interiorarchitecture #designwithpurpose #luxuryinteriordesign #livableluxury #prettylittleinteriors #connecticuthome #newyorkinteriordesigner #newbuilds #connecticutinteriordesign #westchesternymoms

NEW COLLECTIONS in the making. I love the process of creating new collections or adding new products to existing collections. Being in that creative process and diving into a beautiful inspiration is what I love. The challenge to create a piece of fine furniture, homeware, rugs or lighting which will add something beautiful to this world is what I thrive on. The process of collaboration with existing or new makers, artists, customers or creative person is very exciting and rewarding. In this example I want to share my love of the shape, colour and texture of the Rewarewa flower (and honey). My motto when I create: “Consider becoming the type of energy that no matter where you go, or where you are, you always add value and beauty to the spaces and lives of those around you.” Lyzadie #designer #architect #ethicaldesign #lyzadiedesignstudio #finefurniture #ethicalfurniture #archidesigner
INSPIRED BY THIS LAND, CRAFTED BY HER MAKERS. At LyZadie Design Studio, the genesis for the collections is born from the land, culture and people we are creating for. Our collections, so far, have been inspired by New Zealand’s flora, fauna, land, sea, culture and people. The inspiration continues to grow when we collaborate with a maker, artist, creative person or customer. This gives a unique design language to our furniture, homeware and lighting, and a richness and depth we love and hope you fall in love with. Fine furniture made for life. Our work is often based on extensive analysis of international architecture and interior design. This applies, for example, to new product finishes we think about together with our partners. A range of contemporary surfaces gives planners, architects and interior designers maximum flexibility when it comes to creating decorative styles. The new finish Light Gold from our long-term partner Dornbracht reveals multi-faceted lightness. It subtly alternates between coolness and warmth – whether in a glossy or brushed version – and is now available for numerous fitting design series that we created over the years. This picture shows IMO. A universal fitting with hybrid forms, for which we combined two different geometric styles: the vertical cylindrical body with a cuboidal horizontal element. In 2024, it has undergone a complete revamp. After more than 13 years, we have given it a refined, lighter, and therefore contemporary appearance. It is more slender, making it seem more delicate and even more precise. “In making the refinements, we have retained the proportions and traits that distinguish IMO: in particular, the combination of two basic geometric forms – the circle and the rectangle – along with the parallel lines and striking form of the spout, with its unique method of water delivery via a rectangular aerator,” explains Michael Sieger. Thanks to Dornbracht's advanced PVD technology, the Light Gold finish is highly resistant and durable. Like here with IMO, it truly combines a luxurious aesthetic appeal with contemporary lightness. 📸: Dornbracht #productdesign #design #finishes #industrialdesign #interiordesign #bathroomdesign #siegerdesign #dornbracht

"Tile Size Matters: Choosing the Perfect Fit for Your Space When it comes to tile selection, size plays a crucial role in determining the overall aesthetic and functionality of your space. But with so many options available, how do you choose the perfect tile size? Consider the Following Factors: Room Size: Larger tiles can make small rooms appear more spacious, while smaller tiles can create a cozy atmosphere. Traffic and Usage: High-traffic areas require more durable, larger tiles, while low-traffic areas can accommodate smaller, more decorative tiles. Personal Style: Choose tile sizes that reflect your design aesthetic, from modern and sleek to traditional and ornate. Tile Size Options: Large-Format Tiles (12x24", 12x36", etc.): Perfect for modern, open spaces. Standard Tiles (12x12", 18x18", etc.): Suitable for most residential and commercial applications. Mosaic Tiles (1x1", 2x2", etc.): Ideal for creating visually striking, decorative patterns. Still Unsure? Consult with a tile expert or designer to determine the best tile size for your specific project.
