Ever stumbled upon a game-changing innovation that made you think, "Why didn't I know about this sooner?" 🤔 That's exactly how I felt at the NYC Accelerator EXPO, where the 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝟵𝟳. As a real estate consultant specializing in NYC Coop & Condo Consulting, I'm always on the lookout for ways to optimize building operations for our clients. Sure, there were familiar faces and services, but it's the new, groundbreaking solutions that really pique my interest. A friend of The Folson Group, Marat Olfir, pointed us towards an innovative technology that's not only easy to install but also costs just a fraction of traditional alternatives. Minimal disruption, maximum efficiency – that's the kind of solution that gets me curious! And thanks to Tina Larsson for capturing that moment of curiosity (photo credits to her!). So here's my question to all the NYC Coop & Condo Board members out there: 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴? Share your experiences in the comments below – let's get a conversation going about innovation in our industry! And if this post resonates with you, feel free to repost it. Mark can you expand on what was it that,... "Marat Olfir, pointed us towards an innovative technology that's not only easy to install but also costs just a fraction of traditional alternatives. Minimal disruption, maximum efficiency – that's the kind of solution that gets me curious..."
Innovation, at what cost? To implement or what it can save? What is it worth to have an In-Situ, Remote Monitoring system, in real time, to measure ANY moisture intrusion, and its location, on a newly installed 20 year NDL roofing system on a concrete roof?
Great post and question Mark J. Foley! I sure have, and It's inspiring to see how innovation can reshape our approach to building management! Discovering new technologies that enhance efficiency while minimizing disruption is essential for our industry.

2moWow great post - it took me a while to figure this one out - oh 20 years lol - how to manage the heat timer so we’re not freezing- when I first moved in we had the pins installed during the day so the heat completely down for hours to save energy - the building got cold - I took out the pins and the building warmed up and we saved quite a bit of oil - it turns out there is a thermal capacitance concept ie how buildings maintain their temperature ! Which was right up my mechanical engineering alley - still working on it I now increase the heat input at night to reduce heat during the day - very good post Mark J. Foley !!!
