Feeling ‘Joly’ this Christmas Jumper Day! It’s Christmas Jumper Day and not only have we turned out in festive force at the markettiers HQ, but we also had Dom Joly in our studios spreading Christmas cheer on the airwaves. We’re working with Save the Children UK, who this year are making their annual jumper event more eco-conscious than ever, encouraging people to turn to charity shops, vintage finds, or wardrobe swaps with family and friends. Dom donned his favourite festive attire as he delivered 24 broadcast interviews to raise awareness of the day. #BroadcastPR #EarnedMedia #MediaRelations #ChristmasJumperDay

Women in Sport ... is NOT just about salaries and top athletes. It goes all the way to the limitiations women face, who simply want to work out. NAGA MUNCHETTY LIMITED brings it down to a point that everyone should understand. This is also one of the reason, why women in sport is one of the mega trends in sports and hence an integrated part of my Sports Management lecture University of New York in Prague. Tell me in the comments, if this is a new aspect you learned about. #unyp #sportsmanagment #womeninsport
Say it louder for the people in the back💥 This clip of BBC Presenter Naga Munchetty perfectly captures how limiting and restrictive it can feel to exercise outdoors in the winter months. The research is clear... 🌃 72% of women change their outdoor activity routines during winter 📈 This is an increase from 46% of women last year, showing a rise in safety concerns 😔 49% of girls say they feel unsafe exercising in their local park, any time of the year Women and girls deserve to be active outdoors, in public, without fearing for their safety. At Women in Sport, we're working to create a world in which that's true. Donate to our charity today to help us on our way. As a special thank you to anyone who donates today, we’ll send you a signed Christmas card from one of our amazing ambassadors - a keepsake to bring a little extra joy this festive season! https://lnkd.in/ek-mUruF Say it with us #WomenAndGirlsBelong 📣 📊 Sport England and Women in Sport

This powerful post from Women in Sport perfectly captures the challenges so many women and girls face when trying to exercise outdoors, especially during the darker winter months. Their research highlights: 🌆 72% of women change their outdoor activity routines in winter due to safety concerns, up from 46% last year. 😞 49% of girls feel unsafe exercising in their local park year-round. This issue was at the heart of the breakout session I facilitated at London Sport's Active LDN Conference last week. We explored the barriers to activity for women and girls and some practical interventions needed to make public spaces feel welcoming and safe. 🔑 Sarah Ackland spoke about how running can be an act of resistance for women, taking up space and challenging perceptions of who "belongs" in public spaces. But her work reminds us that creating welcoming spaces isn’t a one-off act—it requires ongoing investment, consultation, and commitment. 🎨 Hanna Benihoud shared how art and lighting can transform perceptions of public spaces, making them not just safe but joyful and empowering. Her projects like Girls of the Light use bold and unapologetic designs to bring vibrancy and visibility to spaces that can feel hostile. The takeaway? Women and girls deserve to feel safe, seen and celebrated in outdoor spaces so they don't have to think twice about going for a run or exercising in their local park.

Here's a heartfelt request... for those teams, brands, organizations involved in women's sports...please stop using the phrase "support women's sports". Why? Well, let's break it down. Definition of support: 1. bear all or part of the weight of; hold up. 2. give assistance to, especially financially; enable to function or act. Things/people/causes that need "support" are just that, in need. Now, that's a tactic that's worked for folks who are raising money using that horribly sad Sarah McLachlan song...but it uses negative emotions to drive an action (I will donate because I feel sad for this dog). Women's Sports are POWERFUL. Women's Sports are DOMINATING. Women's Sports are SAFE. Women's Sports are INCLUSIVE. Women's Sports are BEAUTIFUL. We don't need to "support" these things. We need to build communities based on WANT & DESIRE vs guilt & charity.

𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭. In today's marketing world, sponsoring large sports clubs can seem like the obvious choice for exposure. But we believe that our support should go deeper than just gaining attention. That's why we're investing in local charities that provide essential services to those who truly need them. Whether it's your grandad, your daughter, or a neighbour, someone close to you could be in need of the kind of support these organisations offer. Today, FIR Construction attended an event by Wellbeing in Action (Lindie Whitfield). The event centered around providing support and advice while inviting the community to share suggestions on what services or resources they feel are still missing. The communication among the women was truly remarkable, especially considering that many of them were managing emotional or / and physical challenges. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed various taster sessions focused on health, crafting, beauty, and all things related to babies and children. During the event, FIR Construction contributed to the lunch time prize draw and sponsored a meditation package with Natalie Hyson. By choosing to stand with charities, we're helping to create stronger communities, and that’s a victory we all can share. Let’s support causes that make a difference. Together, we can lift up those who need it the most 🧡 #CommunityFirst #GivingBack #SupportLocal #CharityMatters #MakingADifference #UKConstruction #WomenInConstruction
